OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

AJ, wow you are so lucky! Tonite you get him back yay!!!! Yeah American can suck sometimes. I think the military uses them alot too. Hmm, my hubands grandmother had some blue stars but her husband was in WWl, ya think thats what they were for or was it during WWll? It was called the blue star ladies... don't know and never got a real answer to it. I inherited some of them just don't know what they were for. Sorry to here about all the storms out there. Seems our weather everywhere is crazy. My brother up in Jersey went to the beach yesterday in his bathing suit! He even got burnt. Crazy.

Happy Birthday to Dereck! Mary, you had a bundle of joy 19 yeas ago today! Aw, I know, Matt spent his 1st Bday in "A" shcool too.

Iris this is a really good idea to play with everyones numbers. who knows, maybe we will hit even if it is 20$!

I know for sure... the without you guys on here since July, I would of had a much harder time with my kid going in the Navy! Love you guys!

So, the change process of booking his ticket is complete and American Airlines is the carrier - and I'm just sayin' - boo on American. They do not offer a waiver of the change fee and did not offer a discount for the the reroute for him to come home. Boo on them - I'm just sayin'.

I know this is a lot of low numbers, but the number I was going to contribute is '11'. Maybe I should throw that over to the PowerBall space. I'm in for the ticket purchase. So are we buying the ticket on November 1? PowerBall's drawing is on Nov 3 (Wednesday) - and I know that not everyone has PowerBall, but like Iris said, just buy your state's lottery. But let's all at least buy the same day or something.

Gorgeous day here today but with some blustery wind ... and a new canyon fire in Boulder today .... 1,700 people being evacuated plus the Boulder Community Hospital. It has just been so dry here .... even though the mountains have a ton of new snow. So, again, prayers for Boulder families.

Have any of you heard of the Blue Star Mothers? I just heard of it yesterday and did a little preliminary looking. Supporting families and military with the are boxes, etc. This seems to go back to at least WW!! and there is jewelry that you can wear a blue star piece with a star for each child that you have that is in the military; and the flags that you can place in your window, etc. I'm not pushing this or anything ... just wonder if any of the rest of you know anything about it. There are 5 or 6 chapters in Colorado, but none near me. Let me know if you guys know anything about it.

I have another fun thing we could do. You know how Oprah does that "What I Know For Sure ...." ..... there are so few things that I feel that I know for sure these days .... so I'm wondering what some of you might think, feel, know for sure. I imagining this might be good for some laughs, some inspiration, some craziness ....... so I'll start ...... I know for sure that my son is coming home tonight on American Airlines and that I am so, so excited!!!!! And we can keep coming back with a new 'I know for sure' .... what do you think?

Powerball is 5 numbers and a powerball. So we need 3 more numbers to do it. If you don't have a powerball, do your state lottery or whatever is biggest. Why not go for it!

So nothing really happening at my house. I'm just waiting for all the fun H. is gonna have at the Halloween dance with her new boyfriend. It's killing me that we haven't chatted since last week. If you couldn't tell, I'm a chatty kind of person. My son is really trying to "chat" with me but somehow he doesn't like the same topics as I do. I ask him about his girlfriend and well.. I just don't get a whole lot. LOL.... go figure. =)

I hope everyone has a great weekend. My plans are meeting a good friends new wife and baby (we've been meaning to get together for a while now, thus the baby) on Saturday and then Sunday heading to Portland to my father-in-laws house for a family potluck.

I'm going to buy a ticket for the 30 drawing being we only have three a week but I guess I can do a powerball. Never did that since it's new in FL. Next week we should pick 6 numbers and play them in our own states lottery for next week. Start throwing in numbers ladies. I'll start with my favorite number 6. Ok so now we need 5 more!

Sorry about the med making you sleep Iris, but I guess it's better than throwing up.

Kathy, you got to see little TJ? Aw, I see his pictures on FB and he looks so sweet. I hope Mrs B is feeling well. I think she really misses her Sailor. Hard when you first have a baby and you're alone with little support. I know, been there.

Do you remember how much effort it took to maintain? I'm will keep my 42 year old body, with it's character flaws. Lol...

Kathy - Only mom's could appreciate him bringing his laundry. That's so cool you guys had time to talk. Sigh, I miss that the most. Very cool that Mr. B and D are friends and you got to see little TJ and Mrs. B.

Dyl's Mom - Good luck with your lotto tickets. I use to play more. If you want, pick up an extra on November 1st. Then rub a Buddha's tummy, get your rabbits foot out, find your four leaf clover that you pressed in a book, and consult your horoscope to make sure the moon and the stars are aligned just right for winning. Lol... Oh wait, that's me. =)

DO - that's rough. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully something better will come along. My 16 year old son has a hot date with his girlfriend. Although we are taking them to a family get together first, so that ought to kill any romantic notions they might have since they will be stuck in the car with us about 3 hours. LOL....

Well, I took an anti-nausea pill last night and it knocked my butt out till 10 am. I can't believe I slept that long. So now I need to hop through the shower and get this major slow on the road.
