Mary - I am so happy for you that you will have Dereck for Christmas - you guys must be so excited. Good news about United and military rates. Did they require any proof to offer you better rates?

Iris - I'm in for lottery ticket purchase too.

Kathy - so glad you got to go to GL last weekend and see D. Wasn't that a very different experience than graduation? I know you were thrilled to see him.

Wiped out here tonight - so maybe more tomorrow. Enjoy your evenings everyone!

Kathy/D'smom, I know when Matt got to wear his civilian clothes he felt great! So nice that they can call anytime when their not in class or duty. Where is D's C school? is it also GL's? So nice you got to go up to visit, we tried to get to San Antonio TX but it was just too costly and Matt will be home next Saturday the 6th.

Iris, I love the idea to buy a lottery ticket for the same day. You say what day and I'm in, even though I never play, who knows maybe I will win! Happy your MO went well. I have terrible dark circles under my eyes, what's the name of the stuff?

Morning Ladies - The make over was soooooo... cool but I forgot to take a picture. I love make-up. I'm a girlie girl when it comes to that kind of stuff. Lol... I swear I got about $150 in stuff in my bag. What a great program. Cosmetic companies donate product and then The Look Good, Feel Good people distribute it and teach you how to deal with some of the side effects of chemo. I got some kick ass under eye dark circle serum that was marked $31.50. Tried it last night and WOW, it really works.

Mary - I'm with you in the lodge baby! Hot tub and then a nice warm beach. Ahhhhh.... sounds like heaven on earth. =) Glad you are getting Christmas with D.

AJ - Come on Friday!!! Can't wait to hear all about it. =)

Hurley - Lol... you are great for my self esteem. Thank you.

Dyl's Mom - At least you get Christmas. I feel so bad for those who won't get to see their Sailors over the Holiday's. Somehow that just seems too hard.

Hey I got a fun thing to do. I think we should all buy a lottery ticket on the same date and report back. We may all be loosers, but I think we'd get a good laugh out of it?

Well, I need to hit the shower, it's unplug day. Yay! Then I need to go mail off my 4 boxes of goodies for my adopted Marine group. I love Molly's Adopt a Sailor Project and MAS We Ship Love.

Have a really great day everyone! Hugs from the soggy bottom state. =)

Mary! lol! you crack me up sometimes!!
Iris, Dylan won't graduate A school until February sometime. At that point is when they decide if he goes to C school or not. If he does, he'll go straight to C school and won't be able to come home until that is done. Not sure what or how long that would be. Depends on what they want him to specialize in. So when i see him at Christmas, it might be a while before we see him again. who knows!

AJ, i bet you're wishing Friday would hurry up and get here! So cool you'll get to see your son! Keep me posted on how they work the ticket price. Might come in handy later.
Hurley, i play that stupid lotto every Wed and Sat....but do i win? NOOOOOOO! i'll keep trying though.....i really want those houses! ha!

Come on down ladies!!! That would be a ball!

AJ, Matt said the same thing with the tickets before he found out he will be able to drive to his base. So I guess he will fly home (Navy's dime???) and drive up to Kings Bay with his SUV. I am so excited for you, you'll see your sailor soon! Post pictures please and keep us informed.

Iris, I am happy the cemo is going a bit more smooth for you. You seem so upbeat, you are my hero in my book. : )) Please take pictures of your new makeover. I am sure you don't even need a make over, you beautiful the way you are now.

Oh, my oldest son just informed me his Fiancee and he may be moving to West Colorodo. A University there ( she is a housing director for one here) that specializes in park rangers and all may hire her. She flys over the weekend after next for her second interview. They are excited.

Dyl'sMom, buy those lottery tickets!!!! Can't win if you don't play... that's why I will never win!

Mary I think Dereck is pulling your leg. He deffintly has his mother's humor!

Good morning lovely ladies!

Oh Iris - have a fun time with the make over and new make up. New makeup almost always makes us feel better. Do post a picture if you feel up to it - had to laugh yesterday at the memories of Mimi!

Dyl's Mom - Yes! A will be home for his 10 day leave starting Friday. And as you mention Loveland and snow and skiing - yes, Loveland and A Basin are open and the skiers are going crazy. If A wants, he can actually go snowboarding on his leave. He doesn't know this yet. Come on out girls - spring, summer, fall, winter - they all are fabulous here. I wonder if Hurley is ready for us all?

One note on airline tickets for coming home for leave after A School. We were anticipating buying A's ticket from Great Lakes to Denver and that the Navy would buy his ticket from Denver to San Diego to report for duty there. That isn't how they want to do it. So, it goes like this (at least this time). The Navy buys a ticket from Great Lakes to San Diego for A. If A chooses to go somewhere else (home in this case), he must start with their ticket and 'change' it and pay the difference. I don't know if this involves change fees or just airfare difference. He will be doing all of that today and tomorrow. So I will let you know as it develops. Seems silly to me - but - they didn't ask me!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning!

Dyl's Mom - Hi. I'm with you on the summer/winter homes. Now financing it is the issue of course. I'm really ready to be independently wealthy. =) Tanks for the well wishes, I'm actually having a better chemo this time cause they cut out the big boy drug to help my hands, feet, lips and tongue stop being tingly and numb. It's going on three weeks and they'd like to see that subside before we start in again.

You didn't mention how your recruit was doing at A school. Any word to when D graduates or where the next stop is?

Well, I need to keep this short. Shower and appt. this morning for my make over. Hope I get some good make up that will help. My skin is weird now. Ah... chemo, the spice of life. =)))))))

hugs to you all...

Howdy Girls! just stopping by to say Hi!
Iris, i'm thinking about you and hoping your treatment doesn't keep you down too long! i wouldn't mind a rainy day in bed but i know it's no fun when you don't feel good!

AJ, how soon will A be shipped to San Diego? I can't believe he's graduated and ready to go! i'm sure we'll be missing D graduate too. I don't see us getting back up to GL, especially in February when the north is still under 5 feet of ice! ha! speaking of cold, i hear that there's enough snow to open Loveland ski area! i swear that place always gets the most snow! Sure miss being in Colorado.......well, until it's time to shovel the drive way! ha!
See, i really should be a lotto winner so i could spend summers in Colorado with AJ and winters in Florida with Hurley! if that happens, everyone is invited to my place! both of them! a girl can dream, right? lol!

Iris, keep us posted on the romance! Lord knows that went out the window after "I do" in this house! ha!

Hi AJ - Congrat on A's graduating. Is she coming home for leave?

Yes, H dating is tough only because I don't get to see her everyday or really meet this guy. I have faith that she isn't a complete idiot when it comes to relationships, so I will just have to be patient and get my weekly updates. Glad we aren't even close to talking marriage. They are so young and they really are setting themselves up for a tough road when they rush into it. Ah... I remember what a hurry I was in too, so can't say that I don't understand. Just hind site wisdom, don't ya know.

Mary - Hellooooo.... That is a very evil joke your son is saying. Girlfriend fine, but no need to hurry on the marriage thing. They change so much between now and 25. I believe he may have your sense of humor, am I right? =)

Well - chemo feels a little easier this time. Tomorrow I go for a make over. Yay. No haircut, just make up. I'll fill you all in and maybe even take a picture. LOL... Unless I look like Mimi from the Drew Cary show. ;P

Cheers all, keep the stories coming. Love it!

Hurley - So nice to hear from you. I'm so excited to hear all about home comings. Congrats! Hoo Yah! Oh hugs in two short weeks. Yay! Don't forget to share when you can when he's home and tell us all about his home coming. I bet there won't be a dry eye. Just love hearing the happy stuff. =) Yay! Our babies are coming home for visits. We want pics and details. =)))) You couldn't have a better Adopt a Mom than Teaparty (Gina). She is such a wonderful person and I personally have a ton of respect for her.
