While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Morning Friends !!
Just wanted to stop by and say hello and to have a great weekend. Im up early and packing for trip. Going to friends house tonight to have some adult time before our trip tomorrow. We love our kids but adult time is important too.
We were having nice cool fall weather here in West TN, now we are having 90 weather. Wish it would make up its mind.
Got the kids their Halloween costumes already. ( Wanted to get that out of the way before the rush). Robert will be batman, Michael , Darth Vader and Meagan Tinker Belle. I will send pics of course :)
Sending hugs to everyone and I will send up dates on Robert from St Louis.

AJ, you're sooo lucky! I wished i were there!! It's so wonderful that you get to see your son and you don't have to share! ha! I can't believe it's been a month since we were there! Sometimes it feels like forever and sometimes like we just got home! Let us know how your weekend goes!

Love the Friday picture, it's exactly how I feel! We're going to a bond fire tomorrow night, and a lake day/10 year birthday party at 10:10 on 10/10/10 for our church with the best bar BQ you've ever eaten (really!)
Kind of envious of AJ getting to see your sailor and fall all at the same time. I understand how nice it must be-just the 3 of you. We flew into Milwaukee last month. I was surprised at how small it was. On our way back to the airport, we stopped at a place called Apple Holler. The apple pie was Delicious! It was a great memory. Maybe you saw it on your drive. I'm just wishing you all kinds of fun:)

Hi and thanks Hurley! I'm sitting here in the hotel waiting for the phone call to go and pick him up. I feel 'almost' patient and very excited. I want him to complete anything he needs to do in order to feel free this weekend. No, I don't think we get to keep him until Monday .... but if it turns out that we do, my return flight isn't until 4:30. p.m. I feel really privileged to be able to see him again so soon.

Have a great time AJ! So happy you get your sailor for the weekend. Does he have monday off? My son does and has the full 3 days off (no duty) too bad he's so far from home. He couldn't come home anyway.

Helllooooo from Great Lakes! Wow, deja vu - back at the SpringHill Suites. Just ran into a graduating family and their new Sailor was in his dress blues - looked so nice - and that was us just one short month ago. Seems like yesterday and forever.
It will be a much more calm weekend this time. No grandparents, no ex-husband, no boyfriend. Just me and my two boys. Yippee. I am all for family and togetherness - really I am - but am also looking forward to this time just the three of us.
Autumn has arrived here. I flew into Milwaukee today instead of O'Hare to try something different (very easy, quiet airport and short drive south). The trees are golden, burgundy, red, and some already empty of leaves. Crazy.
So we will do all the things we didn't have time for last time ... and again, whatever A wants. He earned his Phase 2 Liberty, so we have him for the weekend (no going back at night). And he got an A on his MOD or maybe MODS test. Happy Sailor = Happy Mom!!
Wish I were going to be seeing your smiling faces down in the lobby again this weekend. Big Hugs and Big Smiles to all of you!

Good Morning Ladies - So happy a lot of us have come back. Yay!!! Thanks for all the good thoughts, motivation and prayers. You guys rock. I use all of those when I have to go back in for another treatment. Keeps me going and upbeat. Did I mention, You ladies ROCK!? Lol....
Maureen - speedy healing to your son. My son had surgery when he was 5 years old. What a helpless feeling that is. You are in my thoughts. HUGS!
DO - You mean the short bus don't you. LOL... I am special and proud. Dorkalious! LOL..... No really, thank you for the thought. I just went all tee hee when you used the word short. My crazy mind. It's like when you say fart or weiner, I'm a child at heart so those things make me laugh. Ever see the show Two & a half Men? I'm the kid. LOL.....
Nicole - You GO on those grades. It can only help you along on your path. =) Don't forget to take some decompression breaks though. Wouldn't want you to get too stressed out. =) A girls gotta have a little fun in life.
Dyl's Mom & Mrs. B - Boy do I know that feeling. When the boy looks at you as if you have grown a third head. Lol.... I don't understand why taking a picture would be a weird thing, but apparently to the male psychy it's horrible. LOL.... and they call us complicated and unreasonable. Hah!!!
AJ - Have a drink for me! I like mine on the fru fru side, but a jack and coke will do if you drink it. Lol.... And someone eat some ice cream for me with hot fudge on it. I'm dying for one lately. Lol... tried chocolate cake, but it didn't cut it. So happy to see you all here. =))))
I read a lot today, so if I missed commenting on your post it's not because I'm an insensitive boob. I sometimes have to take notes to remember all my comments I thought of while reading and today, I forgot to do that. Mind like a steal trap baby. LOL...

I'm cleaning stuff out of my house. I have too much stuff that just collects dust and I'm done looking at it. So I'm diving into the under-eve storage and shipping it out. Plus I'm going to winterize my grandfather's boat and put it on blocks (with help), Skype with H. on Saturday, try to do some watercolor painting - I have a new picture series I'm wanting to do (Old Wizard of OZ book covers) and list some of the stuff on craigs list in hopes someone wants to pay me money for my unwanted stuff. =)
What are the rest of you planning on doing?
