d o...i'm certainly hoping that he stays away from the bars since he's under age. At least i think he is.... What is the drinking age in Illinois? When I grew up, you could drink 3.2 beer in Colorado at age 18. Geee, maybe i should have found out before I left him there!
Mary, I asked Dylan if he knew anything and he said he just heard bits and pieces but he said the corpsmem are clear across campus. Don't know if there was one handy or not. I just hate it when some of the bad apples have to make it bad for the others. I've also seen them saying that the kids should go out in groups whether on campus or not. Isn't that comforting? I guess some of these kids who have never had a taste of freedom go a little crazy and do dumb things.

Lyn, my sailor is out in San D. What division was your son in during boot camp? There seems to be a big circle of friends from GL out there. My son loves it. He said there was a heat wave going on this past weekend.

Dyl's Mom, it you can't get him a room, at least tell him to steer clear of the bars.

Iris...you really are an inspiration! We love having you with us!
Nicole, I'm so sorry about you and your guy!! Hopefully things will work out but you know what they say, if it's meant to be, it will happen. Geeee.... do I sound like a Mom or what?
AJ ..I'm not connecting well with my new group either. They are all really nice but post comments about once every 2 weeks. I want info almost on a daily basis....duhhhhh....I'm a Mom with a kid in the Navy!! So I just continue to hang out here and hope we stay together for a while longer.
So the gossip this week is that there was a sailor to sailor stabbing at the club they have on base at GL. I heard they were stabbed in the neck but I haven't had a chance to read past last nights info. Geeeee! Maybe I should get my son a room at the Ramada!

Sorry to hear that Nicole :( Staying friends is good, and y'all can both focus where you need to for the time being and see how things work out down the road. It has been a heck of a ride.

Just instant messaged with A still in GL at Seaman school. He got moved from a two person room with someone he knew and liked to a 5 person room with 4 strangers so he's not thrilled but as he said, in 3 weeks he'll be in San Diego/Coronado and all will be well. Said he hasn't had any free time but about 15 minutes in the past 6 days...they do keep them busy.

Iris - listening to the radio link right now :-) Very cool!

Iris, congratulations for making it a third of the way though! You are brave and strong, and you are going to beat this. You are getting better and better every day in every way! Have you ever heard that: women are like tea bags...you never know how strong they are till you dip them in hot water;)

My husband is a vietnam vet. He was dealing w/ a virus for all these years. Now they have a treatment and praise God the virus is now undetectable:) I am praying that you will find the cancer not just in remission, but 100% gone when your treatments are finished and that you have grace from heaven to survive the process. May these days go by quick for you.

I've tried to find the interview, has it aired already, or will it air tomorrow (Wed.)? What a cool deal that they picked your entry (:-D) !

Iris - you inspire me every day when I see you so cheefully posting when I can only imagine what you are going through - so thank you for that! It is obvious where your daughter got her amazing strength!

I too miss our daily, well okay minutely (I know that's not a word) chats. For the first time in a long time, when I logged on, we were not a featured group.

DO - I didn't finish reading your post before I posted. Feel for you guys. Chemo stinks and especially when you have other stuff going on. How's he doing? What kind of cancer, if you don't mind me asking?
