Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Traveling alone to PIR, looking for others who are too!

Hi all, finally back from IL. We stayed even though our sailor left Sat:( Last Nov. our foster son had three days, our budget and our hopes were that our son would have the same.) He was sick, but it sounds like everyone else was too. He's having the time of his life in San Diego. It's hard to feel sorry for him. One of his friends from GL lives out there, and his mom picks them up and drives them around.
I can't believe we're having our 1st N4M's baby! Now we have something else to be excited about. Mrs. B, you do know what brings labor on early don't you?!

I'm happy everyone is settling in. I would love to have my PIR group here on FB too. Message me and I will send you my email. It's great so many are still on here.
I sent M's stuff overnight and he got it today. He feels so much better he is connected. He had a few financial classes and starts regular MA school Monday. Tomorrow morning at 5am they have to run 5 miles. UGGG, M hates the run but I don't think this time they are timed!
He said San Antonio is hot and I said it can't be any hotter than you are used to. His reply was " Mother I have been up here in GL's for 8 weeks and now I am back in the heat again, IT"S HOT!" I just laughed. So happy his sense of humor is coming back!

Hi all - I just wanted to chime in and say thank you for all your support over the past weeks as well. My son is still incommunicado unfortunately since he didn't have me there to bring phone etc, and he doesn't seem to be getting on line much at all, but I am trying to be patient. Would love to write more letters but don't have his new address, plus I think he's only in GL a couple more weeks before heading to Coronado CA.
Anyway - hopes for great success for all our young men and women.

So glad to hear that everyones sailor is getting settled in. I am glad that D's barracks in A school doesnt have internet access cause I think that would be a big distraction. Also he didnt want his xbox. He wants to concentrate on A school. Is this my son ??? lol.
Doing the dreaded laundry and cleaning...fun fun...NOT !! Hugs

just a hint: finding people on FB is easiest if you give the email account address that the FB account is made on. That might help!!!

just checking in while at the library. C is in Pensacola now, and has a phone, tho I missed his first call because I didnt expect to hear from him. School doesnt start til the 20th so not sure what he is doing. Im not sure who his room mate is or anything. I cant get on here much because it sucks up all my megabytes on verizon, but ladies, if you have a facebook, we could chat live on that at night, and stay in touch with phots too.!
