Morning Michelle - I'm sending out a care package today. She asked for tea, honey, healthy snacks, and some pj's. I'm throwing a few more things in (mostly disposable) and shipping it off later this morning.

Sorry we didn't see each other. What a zoo, huh. My sister got straight armed by a red headed lady with a dozen rose's. Apparently my sister was between her and her recruit and that was unacceptable. She wasn't hurt, just surprised by the woman's behavior. Crazy!

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well this week. It has been so nice to talk to my son every day even though he is so far away. Has anyone started sending care packages? All I can think about now is Christmas and having him home for a bit.

AJ - That is great that you are still there. Let us know if you get to spend some time with your son. That is strange that he is on hold for so long.

Iris - I looked all over for you and kept hearing you were where I was but never found you! Glad you had a good time. Love your pics.

Tea - no I didn't see Madison Mom either. Bummer. I kept staring at mom's all over the airport hoping I'd recognize someone, but didn't.

Congrats AJ - that's great that you might get additional time. We had a good time in Chicago proper doing the double decker bus tour which gave us all sorts of idea's of things to do if we had time. There is also Medieval Times - a jousting show with dinner not far from Chicago. The only bummer thing about Chicago for me, like most big cities, is that it's really spendy. You can lay down some serious cash there. =) Hope you see D. soon and keep us posted to your adventures.

Time was way too short with our Sailors and with you guys. I had the ability to stick around Great Lakes and decided not to return to Colorado just yet .... so am still in Great Lakes. I moved over to the Navy Lodge because A thought he would have time today and tomorrow. He is on hold for A school here until Oct. 13. We shall see if that decision offers any additional time, or merely the knowledge that I am so very close to him right now. Silly I know, but I decided it was worth it to me for the chance to see him again. I'll post a picture or two today.

Hi LynB, Iris, Tea - I have not been on here at all since graduation.

Lyn - my son was in the back row of 305 as well - they must have been right next to each other because the very back row only had 3 or maybe 4 guys in it. The black pouches are their rain coats all folded up and tied with string.
Comment by LynB on September 14, 2010 at 8:05am
thanks Iris! Great to see the photos even though I couldn't spot my son in Div 305 - he did say he was at the back.

So what are the black bundles they were all carrying under their arms in some photos?
