Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

AJ - that will be perfect. I think that is a great solution - just so we see the same picture with the screen name, it will help us all to remember, you know?
Oh yes, poor Sam... He truly thought I lost my mind. But all is well this morning and every time he walks by the candle he says, "Don't touch mommy's candle, it's for Gogo." So all seems to be forgiven but I felt like such a bad mom!

Good morning Michelle - I had such compassion for you last night when Sam blew out your candle - poor little guy had no idea what it meant to you. I'm sure he's received lots of hugs and kisses since then.
About the badge - anything I tried to print from the Get Badge page had all of that extra stuff on it - so I took the same photo that I had uploaded and have a print of that and will use it to wear. I can place 'AJ' on it and should be all set.
Hugs to those in the vacuum of seemingly unending time waiting for their calls today .... and hugs to those of us still going into BS tonight.

Good morning! Ring phones ring is right. I'm so excited!
Sara - they don't wear civilian clothes until they are through the first phase of A school so you can bring clothes but you don't have to. Personally, my son had what sounds like a similar "fashion sense" as your son and I'm choosing to believe that that has changed and he'll buy all new clothes. As for the phone card, don't worry - he can buy one at the NEX and should have money to do so in his account. What division is your son in?
