Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

it's pretty nice outside..i'll give you guys the daily weather update this week.
what our forecasters SAY it will be, it rarely is. Illinois weather is quick to change. Lastnight it was super nice, then stop of a dime, thunderstormed. So it changes quick, but I will keep you guys posted.

Bring this:
Hoodie.
A few pairs of jeans.
A few pairs of shorts.
A few short sleeved shirts.
One long sleeved shirt.
Rain jacket if you have one.(something with a hood incase it rains)
Tennis Shoes.
Another comfy pair if you'd like(more dressy incase you go out to eat)
Have cash on hand!!! Some places in chicago ONLY take cash.
(MOST take both).
Bring your sailor a pair of civies.
Toothbrush for them.
And PJ's for them (JUST INCASE)
**Some are given overnights sometimes, it all depends on what their orders and such are**

Mrs. B can also fill you in on weather, she is in GL.
All I can say really is sometimes the wind around the lake gets kinda cold.

My husband told me he had 8 hours...but I've also heard that someone who is going to the same school as him only has heard that he has 2. Sooo. Who knows.
