Really? That boy never made it home since PIR? Okay, you get the collective sigh award for the day. Sorry though ... that has to be rough.
Enjoy the movie.
Yay! Amanda will now be a Shellback! No more Polliwog ...... I've been waiting to hear this news for us as well ...... hopefully soon. It does look like fun and is definitely something for her/them to look forward to. Glad that you had such a fun day with your grandchildren ... wow you packed a lot into that day! What a great grandma.
Yay! Cody has a new car. That sounds like a good deal if it runs well for him. Nice find Cody!
Iris and Shelly ... my tush is not lifting .... just call me saggy bubble butt. You girls put me to shame.
Sorry about the family stuff Mary .... hope you had a little fun at the birthday party ..... how did the tutus turn out? Let us see your handywork. I love your rainy day plan .... can we join you?
Pat's Proud Mom .... Happy One Year Under Your Belt Anniversary! What a week this was a year ago for us all. I'm going to send you a FB invite in case you might be interested.
Did anyone ever 'friend' d o on N4M's. I'd still love to find her again. I bet she doesn't know we all continued to stay on here .... would love to have her back.
How was the bike ride Shelly?
Nicole ... how many days now?
Hey Corie! .... always good to see you here ... keep coming back.
Morning Ladies!
AJ - OMG I'm so happy for you and A. When you wrote about watching his face as he sleep, that made me tear up. That is such a Mom thing to do. Tugs at the ol' heart strings. If they only knew how much we love them.
Donna - Oh, that stinks. I'm sure they were really looking forward to land. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before they stop at a port. Hope you hear from her soon. It's so hard, the silence. And yes, the rain sucks ass. If I had the money, dang I'd be gone from this area. Summer here only means sun breaks between rain showers. Ugh!!!
Dyl's Mom - Lol... any lift in the tush is a plus, huh!? Thanks for the compliment, but no.. I'm still a ways away from bout ready. I am learning quickly, but the conditioning takes time. I'm enjoying the journey though. =)
Patsproud - Hi! We've missed you too. Seattle isn't that far so I might. I will let you know if I'm heading that way and maybe we can take in a bout together. Lol... wouldn't that be a hoot. One year. Can you believe it? I like the reunion idea. I have my passport, hint hint ladies, Costa Rica might make a fabulous place to meet up. AJ can make sure we all stay out of trouble or at least out of jail. Lol.......
Mary - The little shit..... Lol...... You crack me up. I think we are probably pretty lucky to have our kids not on ship right now. It gives us more time to get use to the separation. And you know damn well you would be stressing out over him getting married just to be married. Lol... You are lucky he's focused and seems to be keeping his goal in site. I keep reminding Haley of the 3 year rule of dating. First year is bliss, second year - little stuff start bugging you but that's okay, third year - you have to ask yourself if the things that drive you crazy about the other person are something you can live with because YOU CAN'T CHANGE THEM. Then I recommend at least a year engagement to work out any other bugs. Lol.... Reasonable right? Lol.... I get nervous that her love fogged glasses won't allow her brain to function properly. Been there, done that. And Family - oh lordy. You go ahead and vent to us cause venting to other family members just causes DRAMA. And that is just exhausting. We actually have a running joke in our family about who my dad considers the favorite. But to have actual favoritism is really hurtful to the kids and seriously, aren't adults suppose to be bigger than that? Hang in there, keep smiling and find those silver linings.
Not much to report. The bout was FANTASTIC! Emerald City Skatesaphrenics 132 and Slaughter County Roller Vixens 135. Slaughter County has this one jammer that is unbelievable. She use to play roller hockey and I kid you not, the chick can do flips as she skates. My mouth was hanging on the floor in awe. You know you can all watch derby on the Derby News Network. They stream live bouts from all over. The url is http://derbynewsnetwork.com. Anyhow, a bunch of us Sick Town ladies were there cheering them on and going crazy over the action. It was soooooo..... cool. Oh Cody got a car. Yay! It's a 1987 Honda Accord. Looks almost identical to the one he had (1988 Honda Civic). It has 135000 miles on it and after he cleans it up a bit and does some maintenance, it should run really well. He paid $1200 for it, so I'm hoping we did well. I'm not a mechanic so I just do the best I can. He's going to have our mechanic take a look at it and hopefully nothing major needs to be done. Anyhow, I'm home alone and should be doing house work. Lord knows the bathrooms need a good hosing down. So I think I'll glove up and get it over with.
Have a great weekend and send sunshine our way. This weather here really sucks!
RSL!
CORIE- Glad to see some posts from you lately:) Glad all is going well for you!
MARY-Glad to have you here too!!:) Everything goes the way it does for a reason:)
AJ-As I said....NO NEED to take up clumsiness as a hobby, I have plenty, guess my middle name isn't grace for a reason(;
IRIS-Glad Haley has a pretty good fella around! CAN'T wait to hear about your skating adventures once you're able to do bouts:) I used to skate, pretty much since I could walk, every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. It was absolutely ridiculous how much I did, but back then it was just absolute fun. I met a little girl at my modeling class, a little 10 year old who pretty much is a spittin image of me when I was younger, not like, looks, but exact same hobbys and stuff, so i'm giving her my skates, because they no longer fit me, good skates last forever(: She could get some good use of them!
DYLS-Oh, YOU BEST BELIEVE IT:) He said "it's gonna happen" so i'm guessing either PIR weekend, or the first time I get to go visit(: Which would be around Nov. Dec. ish, almost our 1 year by that time!
No letter for me today:( Unfortunately, because it just wasn't a good day. Our wiring at work went haywire, and we couldn't get the wires through due to something being stuck up in the junction box on the west end of the room, well we were doing serious wiring, and we had to wire it from the west side wall, up then east through the ceiling(12/13 foot tall ceilings) and all the way across about 50 feet and back down the east side. Well, being that the ceilings are so tall we lost a few wires because they came off the fish sticks and we had to mess around with that. Needless to say, I stayed 30 minutes past time to leave to try and get it done for my boss, because he really wanted it done today, but even 3 people working we just couldnt get it all done, and have to figure out a new method:( 2 more sets to do on monday, and boss is getting us all out of the office and we're going to a baseball game instead of working! It should be super fun!
howdy girly girls! yeah AJ! finally heard from A!! whoot whoot! i know the feeling about just watching them sleep....like you can bring back the past, live in the present, and see the future all why you watch them sleep! darn kids make us mom's do weird things, huh?
Donna...i didn't get to watch it live since i was at work but i'm going to go to the site and see if i can see it. i tried early this am but the ship was running late so no go...
when is the reagan supposed to come home.....isn't it this fall sometime? i'm sure the whole crew is bummed about missing the port. i know the big e was really hyped when they got to port in spain. their commander is pretty cool and would send update letters the first of every month about what was going on (on facebook) and then post pics and updates of various things. heck, that's how i found out that they had crossed the equator. do you go to the reagan site on fb?
mary, i'll check with our insurance. my mom used to work for state farm before she retired...now i don't get much special treatment....booooo! but yeah, dyl's did the steer clear program and took drivers ed. when he had ins on the taurus it was only 88 bucks but that was liability only. i hate to think what it will be when he has to get full coverage.
nicole...fingers crossed for the ring! if you get one send pics!! want to see it!
hey iris....you must be doing pretty good if your close to bouting! i bet you really are getting fit....that has to be a pretty taxing affair! i never was much of a skater.... too bad..... i will say i got some of those shape-ups by sketchers and i have seen the tush do some lifting....they do work. of course, i'm having to walk my little pup EVERY night. if i don't he follows me everywhere i go and barks. you know, kind of like a kid without words....ha!
corie, glad you popped in! always happy to hear from you and get updates on how you're doing!
ok...gotta run for now.... i think we might take the bike out for a whirl.....
