For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Traveling alone to PIR, looking for others who are too!

There's a VERY good chance that pictures of the Captain's Cup will be on Facebook (on RTC's page) because today is Friday, and the last time they had CC on a Friday, the photographer was working (usually it's on Saturday, so no pic's).
I know you guys are excited, only one week to go!!! But I am excited too - our sailor is on a plane home as I type!!!! He has leave between A-School and C-School, so I a busy baking his favorite foods and running around cleaning!!!
I will be laying low for about a week - but you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Last minute tip: This happened again at yesterdays PIR - another Grad & Go Sailor forgot which airport they were flying out of, so the family had to wait until their sailor arrived at the airport this morning to tell them where to go. Please ask your Sailor the following questions before you leave the PIR hall - that way when they run back to their barracks to get their portraits, they can look it up, write it down and hand it to you!!! What Airport? What Airline? What time does the bus leave RTC? What time is your flight? What City are you flying to first? (some have more than one flight) and if they can give you flight numbers, you can track it on your phone (blackberry or iphone w/ internet). You will not be able to visit them at the airport if they tell you they are on a chartered flight, only commerical flights.

That's okay. I figure I should get use to this expecting something then having to wait longer than expected for it! Hahaaha. Woowoo Navy Wife. ;] Somethin's gotta keep me on my toes though :D Might as well be my Sailor.
