hmm..summery stuff...i'd say flip flops but i doubt you'd know her size.
beach towel? bright simple jewlery?
Hi Ladies! Well, I need some help! LOL. I am doing this military wife gift exchange this month and I need some ideas on what to put in the basket! :)
I have some scrapbooking stuff I'm putting in there, but it's supposed to be like a summer theme. The lady likes scrapbooking, soaps and "summery, bright colored" stuff. :) Any ideas? I am like coming to a road block when it comes to summer like themes! ughhh!
Thanks!
AJ - we miss you. Love to hear about your passport adventure when you get a chance. <3
Morning Ladies -
Dyl's Mom - You wild woman! Lol.... Feather, awesome. I think those are very cute. At least you go get a pedi. I have never had one. I have hairy, large, man toes. Yeah, don't hate. Lol... I can't bring myself to let anyone that close to them. So I maintain them myself. I bet you came out of that salon feeling like a million bucks. Now just throw in a massage, fabulous meal, some wine and a decadant dark chocolate dessert and you will have the perfect day. =)
Donna - Happy 4th to you too! I hope you had a really fantastic day. We certainly did. I first skated in the parade, passing out flyers to our bout on Saturday. That was fun. Then came home, cleaned house, did a little grocery shopping, and prepped for Cody's mini party. He invited a few friends over to shoot off what he had left of the "good" fireworks from last year (we have to go to Washington to buy anything worth buying. Oregon is a major nanny state). We moved the little fire pit onto the patio and I got them smores, hot dogs, soda and chips. They put on some music, ate, drank, visited and blew shit up. Happy day for teenage boys. Lol.... They broke things up about 1 am. But not before I treated 2 of them for burns on their hands. Like Mary said, boy's + fireworks = stupid.
Mary - So happy you had your son home for the 4th. Lol...smart 3 year old. You know they don't get any smarter as they get bigger. My husband use to be an avid skate boarder in his youth. So what does he do? Yep, grabs one of the boys skate board and starts trying to show off on it. Eats it on the cement, of course. I scolded him and told him he's gonna break a hip, so he stopped. I think that actually gave him an out. Lol... male pride. Oh don't get me started. Now Taylor... I think she likes him Mary.
Nicole - So happy you had a great 4th. Sorry the PIR group doesn't talk. Not much support their if you don't talk. Hmmmm..... Only 20 something more days, right? So close. So did you find a dress? Love the pics you posted on FB of you both. So what did you do for the 4th? How's the finger? Did the car get fixed? Lol... okay, enough questions for now. =)
Okay, yes my life right now revolves around roller derby. Friday night I went out bar hopping with some of the girls to pass out handbills for the bout. I didn't drink, driving, and had a good time. Saturday I took some more pic and had a great practice. I can do a cross over now. Sunday I did an outside skate with two very experienced skaters (Brick & Freezer) and had a blast. Scary too. I learned how to go down a steep hill backwards using one skate & toe stop as a break. Didn't fall once. And Monday I skated in the parade. So today, no skating. I will do some ab work, squats, push up and I'm looking for exercises that use the other muscles in my legs/knee that skating doesn't necessarily use. I want to keep my legs balanced and strong. Helps prevent injuries. Oh and on Saturday we did Whips! The girls that ended up being my partner wasn't exactly happy about that. You are suppose to use lobster claws (curl your fingers into a claw looking shape and then hook them together - kind of like barrel of monkey's) to do the whips. Well I have long nails. Not exactly comfortable for the other person. So we were trying to just grab hold, but we were so sweaty that we couldn't keep our grip most of the time. It was comical. I still ended up working my lats pretty hard. Anyhow, I'm probably boring you with all my derby talk. I certainly dive right in to things. Lol.... Haley rescheduled her skype with me cause Fred was taking her on a all day date. Can't wait to hear about it. She seems really happy. I keep having this horrible nagging feeling that she's going to get hurt (emotionally) from this guy. She really likes him and well, she hasn't experienced a heart ache yet and I think he'll provide it for her. He's not a bad guy, but I do believe they are in two different places. Anyhoo.... hope I'm wrong.
Better get the day started. Have a great week and I'll be checking in to hear about everyone else's fabulous weekend news. RSL!!!
Hope everyone had a fabulous 4th! Mine was pretty awesome.
You know what sucks about the new PIR group? They hardly talk!!!!! D:
At least I have all of you over here who do!!:) RSL!
