Iris, The tulips are beautiful. I should see if ours are in bloom in LaConner.

Mrs. B, You would think the navy would have to continue to pay him till his discharge date. After all, he is still part of the navy till that time, Sorry you have had to go through so much in such a short time.

Well, with the almost government shutdown, my daughter does not get to go meet her ship tomorrow. Hopefully, she will get to go this next week. She says the barracks she is in is disgusting and will not even take her shoes off for a shower.

Hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend.

Off to Porltand today, so I'll try to catch up tomorrow. The Tulips cooperated this time. =)

Happy Sunday to you all. RSL!

Quick update before I head out the door. VooDoo Daddy (thank you do - so appropriate) is in hot pursuit. FB reads "every moment I spend with you is cherished". Talked with Haley last night for 5 minutes and she was hiding in a side room to skype with me in order to avoid him. I told her she'll need to be blunt with this one and will talk more with her tonight. Damn I miss Travis. =( From hunky, sweet Marine to phsycho strangelove. Booo.... gotta run. Tulip Festival for sure today. I will update you all and comment later. I also went to see my folks Thursday and Friday and then Sunday we are double dating with Cody and Katie. Busy, busy, busy!  Hugs and RSL my friends.

Oh and Hurley - round two. We'll be here for you. =)

Hugs to you Mrs. B.  I've learned that God's love is the one thing I can count on.  He's the same when everything else changes.  He loves us and He helps us when we need it.

Remember the question is not why me (or us).  That just makes us bitter.  The question should always be: Now what Lord?  That helps us overcome:)

Thanks so much Ladies! Every word you ladies spoke here is so encouraging. I just never thought my life could get so complicated and stressful. It's a major boot camp for sure...people keep telling me that this is just another added testimony for us to be able to share in our ministry. It's hard to imagine right now, that anything is going to be normal and good again. But I know God loves us and will not let us down. I just don't like this last minute stuff. I wish you ladies could see me right now...I'm in tears and I'm never like this! I am never emotional. My dad was just telling me that he's never seen a woman be more like steel than me. That's something for him to say to me, because he's been to hell and back in his life. I really appreciate every one of you! I wanna a group hug!!!

I am praying right now Mrs. B.  Remember, God likes a challenge.  It reminds us of how big he really is.  I'm praying that he will show Himself big (really big) to you right now!  I know this is hard, but it is good training for the ministry to learn to trust God in impossible situations.  Just think of it as boot camp for ministry and this is battle stations.

Good advice Mary ..... yes, Mrs. B .... breathe in .... and breathe out ....

Keep remembering what is truly important ... your husband, your little TJ, you, your faith, your family, your friends ........... you WILL get to the other side of this ..... as my very special grandma used to always tell me .... 'This Too Shall Pass' .... and I know it doesn't feel that way right now .... but it truly will.

Something will give ..... something will open up the path through and to what is next for you ..... faith and trust and breathing!

Big Hugs to the three of you right now!  (((((( Paul, YOU, TJ )))))))

Hi Ladies,

So this is really getting horrible. We're getting discharged next Wednesday, but we will get NO pay, and they won't move us, or pay us to move. So we're like, out on the streets. I am upset. I can't believe ALL the military is getting their pay cut and that they're really not going to help us at all! I am SO UPSET...we have bills to pay, a baby to take care of and no money to even put down on an apartment. We weren't expecting this discharge, so we were paying my parents back the debt we owed to them instead of saving our money...now we're literally penniless. I am panicked. Please hold us up in prayer. This is getting really, really bad.

Little posts don't seem to get lost, so I'm doing it in increments.  AJ I know your bra pain.  Remember that song; Do Your Ears Hang Low.  Well, I sing that about other parts of my body.  Bras and humidity don't mix.  However you get a rash if you don't keep them up, what's a girl to do?!!

I survived the inlaw trip.  I only had to endure 2 emotional shots this time. That's the most they could come up with since I just nursed their son through chemo.

On the plus side, the little grand nieces were so cute, they kept us entertained the whole time:)  Including a hike up the mountain to see the caves...yes, I need Bio Freeze!  We went over 2 miles, I was sure we would end up carrying one of them back-toward the end, I thought one of them might need to carry me back.

Oh yes, one of them had to leave Scat in the woods...no toilet paper.  Even when I leave home, I still have kids to contend with.

Did any of you see the movie about the Marshall football team?  That's the airport we landed at.  They call it the aircraft carrier.  We had a terrible crosswind and had to land fast. I was glad for seat belts!  We did use the whole runway.

This is really interesting stuff I've missed.  I think soap opera writers could get some good material from all our posts.

I've just got to start with Iris. Hunky Travis to wimpy Voodoo Daddy just has to be a mother's nightmare.  Is this guy serious, or is he just playing a really bad joke?!  I don't want to hear that Haley's some ritualistic sacrifice for some guys demented pleasure.  You can share information without breaking confidence. Haley's a smart girl, she can fill in the blanks.  Tell that guy if he doesn't back off of your daughter, he's gonna find out what a REAL curse is.  The curse of a protective mother!!!

Now to the food, you know what the fattest animals on earth are don't you?  Manatees and elephants.....guess what, they're both vegetarians.  We saw a shirt the other day that read "VEGETARIAN...Indian name for bad hunter".  Okay, I know they have the best recipes for the tastiest healthy food.  We had some friends that were really into that, and they asked us if we were too, my husband answered, "Oh, we go both ways".

Mary-you must be so proud of your son.  I know you joke, but that's the best of the best!  Plus he stays out of trouble, what did you do right to raise a good man like that?!

Proud, I got to be honest with you, I'm concerned about all our service people in Japan right now.  I think you're being very brave to send her off knowing she'll do her part to make a difference over there.  I hope AJ's advise helps make her deployment easier for both of you.
