Mrs. B that's awful!  Do you need to hire a lawyer before you all sign anything?  It sounds like you need someone on YOUR side.  I'm praying it all works out for the best for you all.

Mary I was rolling on your last post.  Thanks, I needed that.  Volvo for mom-sound like a new site we need to encourage these sailors to put us all on.

Speaking of tornados!, you haven't lived until you've been in a class room full of kindergarteners in the dark because of the tornado hovering over your school.  Yes, last Thurs. the electricity went off about 11:30, and stayed off, even the emergency lights went off-everything.  We dismissed at regular time in the hot cafeteria (no air) in the dark.  When I got home, there was no electricity there either.  Candle light was romantic, as was the pitch black.  Yet the day with the little ones is still traumatic to me while I pack,  even though they calmed down as I told them about Rip Van Winkle bowling in the clouds.  I'm still trying to debrief myself, but it feels like I'm headed into a different storm.

Hi Ladies!

Thank you all for being a support to me during this time of major stress. I still can't talk about a lot of what is going on. But what I can say is that my hubby is being discharged tomorrow, if they get all his paper work done. The officer and MM1 was supposed to have it done Friday, but they blamed it all on Paul for not having it done. The problem with that idea was, Paul had NO clue what he was supposed to do and he was waiting on them to get his DD214 form, which is STILL not done. He can't do anything without that form. Yet they yelled and screamed, yes SCREAMED at him, in FRONT of me and TJ because THEY didn't do THEIR job. He and I both took the heat from it, yet we had nothing to do with it. Then I had one of Paul's supervisors call me and threaten me saying if I weren't responsible enough to call them and tell them something (this has to do with the thing I can't talk about) then I couldn't be responsible to take care of my baby.  ARGHHHH.  Anyways, it's just a frustrating situation. I don't know why I seem to run into people who are jerks all the time, but I do. Or maybe I just didn't realize what "real" people were like in the world ( I did grow up kind of sheltered, but that's another long story).

Anyways, the is the short of the long of it! I will write when I know and can say more. Which should be tomorrow since he will be discharged tomorrow, at the latest Tuesday, unless they mess up his paper work again. Which I pray they don't. Blessings to all of you!

Iris- I am so sorry to hear about Hailey, but I am glad she can be such a trooper about it. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers as she goes through this difficult time, as I will pray for Travis too.

And for everything else everyone said, I read it, and I'm sorry if I don't respond! I am very busy right now and will write later. Blessings to all~

Hi All!  Hope everything is going ok with everyone!  i'm not even going to pretend i've read all the pages....i think i would have to go back 3 or 4...i did some scanning though.... so i do know a little about Costa Rica, Ramen noodles, surgery and workouts, and bad stuff with trying to get out of the navy....oh and the break up.  sad to hear hayley and travis didn't work out.  i'm always the romantic so i think everyone should fall head over heals and live happily ever after....ha!

dyl's is soooo over great lakes.  still waiting on orders (what's new).  he doesn't think he'll hear anything soon  :(    the upside is that they recognized his good work ethic and have decided to give him a job in the office.  he will be doing various thing for the JAGS...answering phones, taking messages, etc.  he's all excited because he has his own desk, computer, and phone!  ha!  anyhow, it beats the work parties and having to clean, clean, clean.   i'm just glad he'll have something to occupy his time because he was about to go crazy.   oh, and the lieutenant commander got in his face and told him everything he hears and sees in the office, STAYS in the office.  he said she was pretty scary when they had that conversation.  i told him to be on his best behavior because sometimes it's not what you know, but who you know.... could always come in handy down the road if he makes a good impression.   we'll see.

keep posting everyone.....glad to see that some people actually have lives to post about!!   pretty boring here...same stuff, different day around this place.   It is getting close to tornado season here so maybe a tornado can come and take out the neighbors cottonwood tree that i hate so much!  ha!  or maybe i'll win the lotto!   i'll keep ya posted......  as for now, i guess i'll go catch celebrity apprentice.....yes i watch.   lol!    talk to you all soon!

Iris so nice to hear from you. Wow big shocker about Haley!  What happened?  No wonder you couldn't talk.  I made a big post earlier this week and lost it, but in it I mentioned that we bought tulips in honor of your excursions!

Can't stay cause we're packing to go to W.V.  to see my husbands folks before he goes back into the work force.  I haven't minded not seeing them all these years so pray for me.

Morning Ladies!

Mary, Mary, Mary - Love the ramen noodles story. Lol... and keep up the agony of kick boxing. Wish I was there with you. I have my DVD's but would love a workout partner. Anyhow, you'll be one bad ass mama in no time. =) Lol....

AJ - back in Costa Rica - I'm so jealous. I love the pillow idea. What a beautiful labor of love. You bring tears to my eye's. Some day he'll understand what you are going through. It took me years to understand what my mom went through when all three of us girls left her at the same time. We were selfish teenagers and didn't even stop to consider her. I will never be able to make that up. Breaks my heart knowing the pain she suffered cause of me. Anyhow, you have my admiration and love. Hugs hon!

Mrs. B - AAAaaahhhhhhhh! Sweetie, what is going on? Just when things seems all better, BAMN. Crazy. Hang in there, as you always do. I hope it gets settled soon and you guys can have some peace.

Well, I chatted with Haley a little on the phone yesterday. I couldn't say anything last week, but she called and asked how to break up with someone nicely. Yep, she broke up with Travis. I'm really sad for them. She just doesn't feel the same way about him and didn't want to lead him on or keep him tied up when he could find someone else that would love him like he deserves. They talked it out and he said to her "don't feel bad, we've had 6 months and not one argument." What a sweetheart. They are going to stay apart for a couple of weeks and then hang out. Neither wants to loose their friendship. I certainly hope they can maintain it. He's an incredibly nice guy and has been very good for my daughter. I will skype with her tonight. She actually started her job finally last night. She had the 11pm - 7 am shift. I can't wait to hear if she likes it or not. I had a great visit with my oldest sister Charity and my niece Clara. They came up Friday and we did some power shopping. Then out to Thai dinner. Saturday we had a lazy coffee sipping morning then dove into going through my Goodwill pile to see what she wanted. We then loaded up her car and headed to the Nursery to look at plants. Then she had to go back to Ashland. I made Parmesan Chicken with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce and homemade Caesar Salad for dinner. Today's big plan was to sleep in, check! Then have a leisurely morning, check! Shower and then take all my stuff to Goodwill. Next week I'm kicking the exercising up a notch. I'm doing weights Tues & Thrusday, and Turbo Jam M, W, & F. I'm down 5 lbs, 25 to go. Also next week Cody goes in for his surgery consult. I think I told you they need to ream his nose out so he can breath through both sides at the same time and take his adenoids and tonsils out. He's going to be very unhappy. I see my doctor next week and then hopefully get my port scheduled to be pulled. I will not miss that thing. Prom is on the 16th, and Cody has asked me to accompany he and Katie to pick out the tux. I feel very fortunate to be included. Sunday the 10th we are going to double date. It's Katie and Cody's 6 month anniversary (I know, how cute is that) and they'd like to go dink in Portland. Cody isn't really comfortable going by himself (big city - lots of weirdo's) and asked if we'd like to join them in a play day. So April is shaping up to being somewhat busy so far. No luck with a job yet. Hopefully my dream job will call this next week, or I'll win the lottery. I'm good with either. =) Oh yeah and on the 9th I'm heading back to the Tulip Festival with my friend and this time hope to see some actual tulip blooms. Lol....

Well, that is all my news. My thoughts are with all your sailors. I hope they are happy and safe. Keep smiling! Rainbows, Sunshine and Lollipop's (RSL) my friends.

Hugs to you all.

I'm so sorry Mrs. B .... hang in there.  I know you will be so pleased, relieved, and grateful when this Navy chapter of your lives is over ..... you will be in my thoughts and prayers for a fair conclusion so you can get on to that fresh, happy start in Texas.

Hi Ladies, I can't really talk about anything that is going on with us....but I will let you all know when I can talk. It's all OPSEC right now. :(  It's SO frustrating...and totally confusing. But please keep us in your prayers! The little I can say is this: The Navy is trying to screw us over with everything, even though the CO has signed papers, etc.  It's just getting to be a really bad situation. Thanks!

Perfect Mary - thank you.  Don't fall off the table please.

As a footnote, I meant to add that making pillows from the balsa cotton has been done for centuries down this way ..... so it also makes me feel good to honor some ancient tradition that has found ways to utilize most things from nature.  :)

Hi all ..... I'm slow again to post ...... but have enjoyed your adventures, visits, and updates.

I'm looking forward to some calm weeks where there is nothing but calm seas on the horizon ..... not sure that this is the life of the Navy though.  So we went from one world crisis to another with our crew ..... and I've now know with personal certainty what I've always suspected to be true .... you don't hear the full story, ever, on the news.  However, as this did make some mainstream news, I will share that we had what they call a 'mishap' on the ship this week.  One of the Harrier Jets crashed on take off ... it rolled right and crashed into the ocean.  Of most importance, the pilot survived and was rescued within 7 minutes by a helicopter from the ship.  We went two days not knowing if the plane crashed on the ship or off the ship.  I have still not been able to communicate with Aaron, but have the comforting assurance that everyone is okay.  It is an unfortunate reality in their world, and hopefully not too often.  There was another plane that had a catastrophic engine failure this week on another ship, however .....  that one did result in injury to 10 Sailors ...... ugh, what's up with this week!

Each time I think I've found a new place of some balance and mild peace, something seems to happen to shake me .... I will keep focusing on remaining positive and patient.  Someone asked recently if this was as hard as Battle Stations.  It is significantly worse.

I am back in Costa Rica for a time ... and have decided to do something very time consuming with my energy.  I love doing it though because it is a labor of love.  There are balsa trees down here that have these huge green pods on them.  When the pods open to 'spread their seed' (tee hee) .... it has rows of this camel colored cottony stuff .... not really, but kind of similar to cat tails ... except their cottony bits are white .... but if you've ever opened and played with one of those (as I did so much when I was a kid) .... they are incredibly soft ..... softer than a baby's behind.  Anyway, I have to pick all of the little seeds off the cottony bits ......... am collecting it all and am going to make an amazing pillow for Aaron ..... goodness knows how long it will take me to collect enough, but I'm determined.  Then, as I'm sitting here pulling these little bits out .... I think that I would have to also make one for my other son.  These little threads of fluff looking about the size of wooly worms .... which I also adored as a child ...... so perhaps I am regressing to my childhood from all the stress.  And there is one more significant event with the ship, but I can't write about that yet.

LynB .... I was thrilled to see the picture of your 'A' at Coronado. I've stayed at that hotel where he was (well, where I think he was by the picture) and it is lovely.

Nicole ... you are wise beyond your years in some of the things you share and all the while still having the playfulness and fire of a true teenager.  I adore you.  Please do keep with us here .... it wouldn't be the same without you!

Ok Mary .... I need some laughs .... surely something truly funny is going on in your world.

I hope Iris that the tulip festival redo is better this weekend (I think you said you were going back with a friend).

Well, I need to resume the pillow project ....... time to gather more outside.  I know there was more I wanted to say and share, but it is escaping me right now.  So maybe later ........

Have a good weekend everyone.  Lots of love, AJ
