Hi all - just checking in. Mary - I'm imagining your cat tearing up a dog...cracks me up.

Nothing much new with A - the wonderful career counselor who was helping him has been transferred and it doesn't look like there will be much more going on in terms of advancing his career so he's decided to leave the Navy in Jan when his mandatory service is up.  That's still a  while out so it could change but he's just serving his time, trying to get as many deck certifications as possible to try to move into another sea based job as a civilian.

Regardless of how it all works out I must say the experience has truly made a man of him and I know the military training and bearing will serve him well the rest of his life :)  Plus it got him out to San Diego which he's decided is pretty darn skippy keen and with any luck he'll establish himself there.  Our family of southerners is slowly migrating one person at a time to CA!

And in happy news, my gorgeous daughter just got accepted to grad school in paleontology at ETSU with tuition waived, stipend, and graduate assistantship.  I'm so proud of her I just have to brag!

I should have been more thoughtful with my one word choice .... so my apologies .... I know nothing about my son ..... and was trying to make a reference to the fact that I was attempting to speak in 'code' in one part of my previous post .... and no one was able to read my mind (duh on my part!) ....... I'll get more bold ......... if you don't already know, I'd like to pass on to you my education about River City.

Sorry d o ........

M&M Eminem Mary - geez!  That is not the kind of excitement one wants in their day.  Glad that you got the fire out and no more damage than was done.  My condolences for the crock pot.

Good morning all.  I have the latest weight loss method update!  Have your Sailor out on deployment in the midst of the world's chaos.  It does wonders for your appetite.  Now the downside, while you are losing all that weight is that your hair falls out and/or turns grey, and new wrinkles appear every day ... but hey, you are lighter!

You guys should familiarize yourself with where River City is.  I did and was surprised.  It took me forever to find it on the globe.  Definitely you want to know this place.  And if you do not, call me.  You can private message me for my cell phone number.

Mrs. B. - I have been holding you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers .... and while I know it is challenging to go through something that will potentially rock your world so much .... there will be come silver lining.  And Mary is right, and you know as you are a faith-based woman, that God does not close a door without opening a window.  I hope that whatever the medical issue is, that you are resolving it.  My hugs to you and to TJ and my best to your husband.  Do keep us posted.

I love the development of our own acronyms.  I will work on a contribution.

I have to head out here in a minute so don't have much time to write more. RSL!

Oh and Mary - if you want you could write that as Eminemnukesmom.... or M&Mnukesmom. Then you would be either the mom of the singer Eminem, or the mom to one of the chocolate candy guys. Don't ask, that's just where my brain went. I personally would go with the green or red chocolate guy. Yellow guy isn't very bright. =)

Just some random crazy to start off the morning.

Morning Ladies - I hope you are all well. I know some have been going through some pretty stressful situations. Stay strong. WGYB (We've got your back). I don't have much to add. Haley and I Skyped last night. She's bored. Lol... the Navy seems to take the slow road. She might come home in May to surprise her brother for his birthday. She misses him. Anyhoo....  RSL (Rainbow's, Sunshine, and Lollipops) my friends.

BIG HUGS!  Iris

We have struck Libya - My thoughts are with the families of the Sailors and Marines there.  You can read what ships and subs are being reported in the area. 11 total.

Hi Ladies,

well, it seems our journey in the Navy is coming to an abrupt halt. I can't really talk about all that is going on, but my husband will most likely be getting a medical discharge. We spent the whole day in the hospital on Thursday and yesterday, after a follow up doctors visit, they had to send a private letter to the CO/XO of the Bonhomme Richard recommending that my husband get discharged from the Navy due to some medical issues.

I am scared, worried and nervous. I know I've not liked the Navy; but I was really prepared to see this through and do it like a big girl. I'm worried about what's going ot happen to us; my baby, etc. I feel like a failure too, as does my husband. We really wanted to see this through, no matter how hard it is. It just seems like, in our lives, we never finish anything due to difficulties. It feels like we're just constant failures and can't do anything right.

I am so upset and frustrated and angry at myself. I feel responsible in some way, though I keep being told by all the Navy people and my husband, that I am not a failure and that I couldn't have done a thing to change what has happened. I had to have a meeting with 3 officers on Thursday about what is going on with my husband and why they feel he needs to be discharged. They were nice. I just wish I could do something to change our situation and to help my husband with this medical issue so we could finish what we began. Arghhh!

***SCREAM***

Sorry, I just needed to rant. Please hold us up in positive thoughts and prayers. This is a very difficult time for us. Thanks!
