BGP I love it! Their just fine until the elastic breaks from unwadding them, and pulling them up all the time!  Right AJ!=)

Wonderful news Iris!  glad to hear such a good report.  I'm looking forward to tulip pictures.  Did I tell you all we went to the Strawberry Festival last we?  Don't be jealous, but we got a full flat of them for 5.99, however they seem tart this year-not quite as sweet.  No problem, we'll dip them in chocolate!  Which brings me to my acronym, IWIAAIWICIC....I want it all and I want it covered in CHOCOLATE!

Lots more to share, just no time to post.  Happy Spring Everyone.

Hi Ladies! Well, this morning was really nice! My hubby stayed up a lot of the night to take care of TJ because TJ has a cold and hasn't slept well for a long time. I've been struggling a lot with the lack of sleep. So I got some sleep last night, which was really nice. But now I'm sorta panicking. There have been some very dangerous jobs my husband and his co-workers are having to do these days due to the ship needing to get out of dry dock next month. He always gets breaks every 2 hours for about 10-15 minutes and he normally calls me, or texts me. It's now been 5 hours since I heard from him and last time something like this happened, he had gotten hurt. :(  I am SO hoping everything is ok.

Anyways, hope everyone is having a good day!

AJ, hang in there.. I don't know what is going on. I know my husband tells me a lot of stuff he hears on the ship and I know some things that aren't good with a couple of the ships out on deployment. I am praying for your son and everyone on those ships. God bless you

Iris! SO happy that the results came back negative! That is so awesome and such an answer to prayer.

Blessings to everyone~

Thanks everyone. My daughter isn't leaving for SD till the 30th and then will just be on hold till the ship comes back. We don't know when that will be. She doesn't want to just be on hold doing odd jobs till then. Luckily she has lots of friends at Camp Pendleton so hopefully some are around to hang with in spare time. When they called I thought for sure they were cutting her time at home short and shipping out sooner. Never thought about it being the other way around.

Oops - at the end of my rant about my father it should of read "he can't abide JOY, not job. Dang bandaid.

Top o' the Mornin' Ladies - Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

I have a tiny bit of Irish in my line, which might account for my fair skin and red highlights, but not enough to give me an authentic accent. Lol.....  So yes, as AJ reported (thanks I didn't mean to leave the N4M group out) my genetics are good. No Lynch Syndrome, so no more surgery and just regular follow up. Woo Hoo....  Lots to be thankful for. I agree with AJ, take the time to make someone's day. It doesn't take long, or even any $$ to say a kind word, give a helping hand, let someone know you are thinking of them. It's good medicine. =) It's what each of you do for me on this site. You encourage me, make me laugh, and throw me a kind word that keeps me going. You let me vent & whine and then tell me to put my big girl panties back on. You are all just Awesome!

Okay off the soap box and on with the news. I have none. Lol....

Well you all know me better than that. I can ramble on without saying anything of consequence. It's my special, special, talent. Lol....  Okay, I did cut my finger while making the Vietnamese pork curry (I think I said chicken, but it was pork). It's alright, it didn't hurt too much cause I still have the neuropathy. Who would of thought that'd come in handy. Ha ha ha..... Anyhow, I wasn't wowed by the Russian dish or the Vietnamese dish. The Ravioli's came out soooooo.... good. Even my non-Italian loving husband went back for seconds. Anyhow, Taco's tonight and then I'm bumping Friday's Indian to Saturday and Saturday's Thai to Sunday, since my sister isn't coming up for a visit now. My husband and I will go out for date night. Mmmm... love me some date night. No dishes, no slaving over a toasty warm stove, no knowing what is exactly in my food,.... Lol... I'm feeling especially silly today I guess.

AJ - Ah sweetie, obsess away if that is what helps you get through this. I'm glad there are some places you can get information. Weather that just feeds your fear or gives you some comfort, I don't know. Hang in there and without spilling the beans, vent & whine as needed. We are here with broad shoulders and BGP's (Big Girl Panties).

Hey that is what we need to do. Make our own accronyms. The Navy sure does, so why not. We have our first one

BGP - Big Girl Panties.

Now everyone try to think of one or more and add it. Ought to be good for a laugh.

Proud Mom - I'm so glad your daughter (for your sake) is going to San Diego instead of Japan right now. Keep us posted. She'll have some down time so hopefully she can enjoy the beautiful weather there.

DO - You are always welcome. Lol... =)

Dyl's Mom - Lol... that story about Dylan with the 1st graders was fabulous. Did he say anything about them picking their noses. When I volunteered in Haley's first grade class, I swear 80% of them picked and ate their buggers. I was a crazy lady with the Kleenex. I was so grossed out.

Well, Haley had a lovely weekend with Travis. They spent the entire weekend together just dinking around and enjoying Hawaii. Cody has been down with a nasty cold. Nyquil & Dayquil has been is beverage of choice. Nasty stuff, but effective. He went to school today to make sure to spread the love to everyone else, that way they can be sick for Spring Break. Sigh! You'd like to keep them home but they are worried about getting behind, so off they go to be Typhoid Mary. That's probably how Cody got it. Let's see, I got a bright and cheery update on my Dad. He's the non-compliant, 420 lb, waist bigger than he is tall, victim, wants everyone to pity him cause all his troubles aren't his own fault, suck the joy out of life, daddy of mine. He went the his doctor's the other day and she informed him that if he doesn't start taking his water pills, he'll loose his leg. I just don't understand not fighting for a better life. I swear I'm the milk man's daughter, not his. We are as opposite as night and day. He can't abide job and I can't abide self pity and gloom & doom. Grrrr... I feel for my mom. She has endured a lot.

Anyhow, I don't like to wallow in the misery that is my father, so let's move on. Next weekend I'm going to the Tulip Festival. I hope we have some dry weather so I can take some pictures. Can't wait. Plus I get to visit with my sister Rose. I might even go twice. My friend Karen want's to go too.

Well, that is all my excitement. Hugs to you all. May your sailor's be safe and happy (and check in with their mother's). =)

Hi girls ... okay, so I've been absent and disturbingly more obsessed than I've ever been in my entire life about anything.  I have been on my computer almost 20 hours a day for the past many days, on a secret site (however much that can be true), CNN on in the background, monitoring our ships FB, N4M's, Ombudsman e-mail and Captain's messages .................... there is so little I can share .......... I just have not known what to come on and say ........... it was this, then it was that, then it was this again, and word that some really bad shit has happened, and then ********%#*$#&$*&************ stuff that I can't say on here.  Deep sigh.

The concern for my son (and all our Sailors) is almost equally met by the heartbreaking suffering in Japan.  One does not even need to listen to the news to know the stories playing out there .... life will never, ever, ever be the same for so many .... and it is so unfathomable .... and when I listen to people complain about the mundane and ridiculous things in their lives, I have no room for it anymore.  It would be my hope that all could really do a reality check in their lives to find a space of gratitude for all that they have (please know that this is not directed to you guys here, but generally).  I am thankful that for each of you that is reading this whenever you do, that you are safe, breathing clean air, drinking fresh water, food in the house, a house that is standing, family around you, and hopefully spirits that can still find the good ..... ahhh, that sounds to preachy and I really don't mean for it and don't have time to re-write it ..... I just want to shine a tiny light on stuff that we all (myself included) take for granted and under appreciate.  Find someone to lift up today, someone to encourage, someone to hug, someone to offer a helping hand to ....... and know that I love you guys.

I did want to say to Iris that I am so glad to read on FB that your test results were negative for Lynch Syndrome.  That is wonderful and relieving ... and dance girlfriend, DANCE.

And proud navy mom ... so glad that your daughter is in SD and not heading to Japan ..... even though she is not so thrilled with the decision.  This is a good thing .... and I know you are breathing easier knowing she is where she is.

A shout out and warm hug to Mary, Dyl's Mom, d o, Hurley, LynB, Nicole, Mrs. B, ............ I know you guys all have things going on in your lives and with your Sailors ........ and you are always in my heart and prayers ........ I do read your posts and send you love in each sharing .............. keep posting please ..... you are still a huge touchstone for me ............. I know I've said this before, but I will try to do better.

do- yes SD is a safer place right now but she says she was really looking forward to going and helping in this disaster and would still rather go. She makes me proud. We worry cause we are moms but we have to trust the navy is doing everything in their power to keep our sailors safe. My prayers are with all the people of Japan and all who are so willing to help out in this time of need.

Hey everyone!   glad to hear our sailors are doing ok....  it's a little scary to hear stuff like that now that i have a kid in the service.  you never know what can happen and if they will be sent to a hot zone.  so Mary, i think D needs to help us out with this nuclear stuff.  i don't really understand how it all works but it sounds pretty scary to think of radiation floating around everywhere.  I don't think the press has been exacly upfront and honest about what's really going on....that to me is the scary part.

dyl's is done with a school and waiting on orders.  he mostly cleans, sweeps, etc.  he did call me on Monday to tell me they sent him to the local elementary school to be a teachers aide.  i was cracking up!  he had to be in a room full of 1st graders (and yes, they still tattle on each other)..... and he even had to sit in one of their little chairs.  i laughed through the whole conversation listening to him tell me that teachers were way underpaid and that he didn't want kids for a long time!  hee hee!  i think that the best contraception ever!

gotta run for now.... keep posting ladies!  i get on a read fairly often, just usually don't have too much to add.  Ditto on what Hurley said about prayers!

Proud Navy Mom that's the best news ever.  You've been on my heart, I know I wouldn't want to have to send my sailor there in a week. PTL! she can wait in SD.

AJ what's going on with the Boxer?  Are they alright?

Iris, I want to eat at your house.

Hi all, just wanted to say hi. Hope all is well with you all. I love reading all the posts but I feel kinda disconnected, my fault, I should be on more often.

Prayers to all our military helping with the tragedy in Japan. My heart just breaks for the poor people there
