Great to know, Nicole! Thanks! :) It's funny, I lived in Texas for 20 years, yet I never went down there...actually, I lived there for about 22 years to be exact.
AHHHH, and thinking about years, I'm going to be 24 this year! I feel so young, yet so old...LOL. I used to think about stuff I wanted to be able to do when I was older and now I keep thinking about stuff I wished I'd done when I was younger. LOL...
Oh, it's a WONDERFUL place Mrs. B. I have family down there, so i've been there many times. But if you ever get the chance, anyone really, South Padre Island/Port Isabelle Texas is just wonderful. I love it there:) Corpus Christi isn't too bad either!
I went home sick from school today, now they're calling me a chronic truent student???
All because THEY wouldn't let me go to school for a week because they THOUGHT I had whooping cough. (WHICH I DIDN'T! I just have a very bad sounding cough, I sound like i've been smoking a pack a day for 40 years! It's bad, and haggard sounding) but now they're making me go to a meeting to "prevent me from being truent"..........(or, they should stop ASSUMING people are horribly contagious and let them stay in school???)
Anyways, I leave friday, and my best friend Brooke is going as well. Since her family doesn't travel much she does most of her traveling with mine. Been to Texas once, this will be her 2nd. Nassau Bahamas, Grand Turk, St. Thomas, and Puerto Rico, or and Miami Florida!
She's my buddy, and it's someone to keep busy with, so if they don't bring SOMEONE for me, they are usually to the point of JUST GET RID OF HER!!! Because I want to do the crazy things that they hate doing!! Haha.
My boyfriend was almost able to go spend the week with me but he just got a new job so it's a little soon to take off work. He says he could of gotten it off but being that he's only been there a little over a month I made him stay so he didn't lose his job.
Good Morning Ladies - Happy Monday. =)
Mrs. B - Here's to a quick month and then some normalcy. This was a very insightful post that you wrote on FB: " As I drove along the highway this morning, I heard TJ sigh deeply while he slept. I realized the trust he has in me; I have his life in "my hands" so to speak, while driving. I realized that I need to relax and trust God and let Him drive the car of my life...I need to become as a little child, just like my son!" If you can do this, you will have a very happy and peaceful life. =) Hope you don't mind that I reposted it.
Nicole - Yeee....Hawww.... of to Texas. Enjoy! I think a break is in order for someone that is as busy as you are. Work hard, play harder. =) We expect a full report upon your return.
DO - Yes, it has been a crazy week. My heart bleeds for the people of Japan. Oregon fared well. There was a whole lot of hype and still is, which I find insulting to the folks who are experiencing real loss and destruction, but that is pretty normal for this area. I don't know why every time there's something news worthy happen around the world, our local news has to "relate" it to us locally. No matter how ridiculous. Anyhow, I'm thankful there isn't anything to report here. The waves were under 4 feet and unremarkable. There was minor damage and one idiot that got swept away while photographing the waves, but that is about it.Glad everyone's loved ones are alright. Now all our thoughts and prayers need to be directed towards Japan.
Today I will get my genetic's results on my tumor. Finger's are crossed that all is well. I got up this morning and started week number two of weight training with my hubby. Ouch! I made a dinner menu for this week so I'm getting back to cooking. Monday is Russian, Tuesday is Vegetarian/Italian, Wednesday is Vietnamese, Thursday is American, Friday is Indian, and Saturday is Thai. Before the whole cancer thing, I did this and we ate really well (healthy) and it was interesting cooking. I get bored easily, so this is fun for me. I started tiling the upstairs bathroom. I have about 1/2 of the whole tiles down. It's going to look sharp. Today I need to write to my Army soldier (his weekly letter), grocery shop, clean bathroom, prep for dinner, apply to a few jobs and find out about a gym membership. But first, my second cup of coffee. This week we are suppose to get a pretty good wind storm on Tuesday. Yesterday we had a wind storm blow through that took the power out about 10 or 15 times in a 30 minutes time frame. It was crazy. Mother Nature is pretty awesome. Anyhow, that's my ajenda. I need to go plug in my cell phone and bring little Audrey down for breakfast, so I will make this short. Tonight I skype with Haley, so I'll fill you in on her first weekend in Hawaii with Travis. I imagine I will see a very happy girl. =)
Hugs and Rainbows, Sunshine and Lollipops!
Well, I'm headed to Texas on Friday for a week, for vacation, my boyfriend and I are calling this our "bootcamp test run" but we will be just fine. We have basically grown together and are together EVERYDAY. It's bascially Sleep, work/school, hangout, sleep, work/school, hangout. What a schedule!
But i'm gonna miss him! Everything will be alright though!:)
It's supposed to be heating up to high 60's in IL thursday! and it will be high 70's low 80's in Texas while i'm there. I'll be at the VERRRRYYYY bottom of texas, by the USS Lexington, I've been through it once, but now that I know more about the Navy I kind of want to tour it again. Being that when we first toured it I was just like...okay.....this is dumb, I don't understand ANYTHING!
Anyways, my bed time! I am incredibly tired! Goodnight all!
I'm hoping everyone is ok with all the Sailors all over the world, especially those in Japan and Hawaii! We are all fine here in CA.
Sorry, I don't have time to read everyone's posts, but blessings to all and prayers for all!
Just off Skype with A again (we use the messaging feature since he can get it on his phone). They were ordered out to sea for the tsunami alert in CA but there were 8-10 foot waves and rough weather so while they were safe from the tsunami, they had damage to the craft and snapped 3 four inch mooring lines which was kind of exciting. Also wondering if their unit will get sent to Japan to help.
The images are shocking - all those poor people swept away. So very sad.
