Morning Ladies -

It's Friday! Woo Hoo, the weekend is here. I hope you all have a really wonderful weekend.

Mary - hang in there with that knee. My sister had knee surgery and then didn't behave and will have to have more done cause she messed it up. Hope you don't have to have surgery and can find some relief.Yeah the flea thing here can be a real issue. One cat has allergies to flea's so we have to make sure he gets drops or else he get covered in scabs. Not the best look.

Okay the roomba is still trying. I've had it unplugged for a couple of weeks and right on schedule, it starts up three times a week till it error's out and dies. Now it has died in the middle of the floor. I will push it aside and on Monday, see where it goes from there. It's kind of funny and sad at the same time.

I chatted with Haley for about 10 minutes last night. She said she will be stationed in SCI-PRNOC which is an above top secret area. She's very excited. When I asked her what SCI-PRNOC stood for, she had nothing. LOL... here she is throwing around these acronyms and she can't tell me what it means. She still has two or three more weeks before her job training begins. Travis will arrive today, so I imagine I won't hear too much from her. Although I don't think they will allow him off base this weekend. She will probably try to go to him. She's looking for a car, but still needs to save up a bit more money. On another subject, we will be integrating the kitty Audrey this weekend. Cody is going to be away, so kitten will have to stay in our room with Xena, Dot and Ginger. Hope it goes well. The biggest issue is Licorice and Audrey. Those two do not like each other. Oh this just sounded too good not to share. I found a Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.

1 pouch (1 lb. 1.5 oz) sugar cookie mix

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/4 - 1/2 tsp mint extract

6 - 8 drops green food coloring

1 egg

1 cup creme de menthe baking chips

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips/chunks

Heat oven to 350 degree's F. In large bowl, stir cookie mix, butter, extract, food coloring and egg until soft dough forms. Stir in creme de menthe baking chips and chocolate chips/chunks.

Using small cookie scoop or tsp, drop dough 21 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until set. Cool 3 minutes, remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Serve warm or completely cool. Store in tightly covered container at room temp.

With St. Patricks day coming up, I thought these seemed appropriate. =)

AJ - Yay you got to talk with A. Boo 3 - 4 months before you get to chat again. I'm so happy though that he sounded up and well. That had to put your mind at ease for a little bit. So you are heading back to Colorado soon. I can't imagine how you are going to make that transition gracefully this time a year. I'm so ready for summer I could spit. Hope you enjoy the snow a bit more than I do. Keep smiling and let's all hope you hear from A. before 3 months are out.

So my husband and I had a chat and we are going to postpone our trip to Hawaii until September. Haley just doesn't have a sense to what her routine will be and we agree it would be smart to at least know what her usual routine is and if she'll be there and available when we arrive. So as sad as postponing makes me, it's the logical thing to do. Grrr.... logic.....grrrrr..... So Patience, ha ha ha ha.... has to exercise patience. I suppose it takes some of the pressure off of having to loose so much weight in such a short time. Although I'm still going for it. Turbo Jam next. I'm going to go for max and see what I can do. Shake and shed baby! The lady that leads all the Turbo Jam video's is pretty upbeat and funny. Kind of like a little doll on crack. She likes to say energy comes from your mind. So I try having high energy thoughts while sweating my ass off. Lol... ah living the dream.

Okay, I have rambled on for long enough. Time to get moving. Everyone have a fabulous weekend. Keep writing and smiling.

Hugs!

You all made me smile today.  It's good to hear some happy posts and good to hear from all of our old friends.

Hooray for AJ he finally called.  Praise God he sounded good and not whiney and wanting to come home!  Dear Lord tell me it's not true that you won't hear from him for 3-4 months.  I thought they had phones on the ships. Your prayer is close to all our hearts, thanks for sharing.  I hope your transition back to the states goes smooth.  We all had fun following your warm posts way south of the border.

Nicole-I love it, a half hour glass...too funny:-)  I'm glad you're out of the woods with that eating disorder stuff too.  You look great in your pictures.  When I was your age and perfect I always thought I wasn't good enough.  Now I'm twice the woman and think I'm fine for my age.  Go figure, perfect wasn't good enough and now middle age curves are just fine?!  It's mojo baby!, and all you Navy Moms have it!!!  Nicole, you better enjoy the good stuff while you can, BC is coming for you and you can buff up then.

Mary, glad you son finally called you!!!  :)   Hopefully he'll call a bit more often.

So that prayer was posted on our Boxer website today.  I did receive a call from Aaron last night from Hawaii.  He sounded incredibly, amazingly, perfectly good and happy.  He was off the ship both days in port.  What more could I want.

They are leaving there about now ..... it could be 3 to 4 months before I hear his voice again, according to reports.  Sigh.

Will add more later .............

A Navy Mother's Prayer

Tonight I lay me down to sleep, I Pray, Please Lord, Our Sailors you keep.

Hold them all safely in your arms, Ward off those whom would do them any harm.

Remind them, Oh Lord, that they are never alone, and bring them soon, safely back home.

Give them all Strength and Courage, Oh Lord, because the jobs they do are ever so hard.

Our precious children, so Strong and so Brave, I pray, Please Lord, their lives you will save.

Remember Lord, they are close to our heart, please shorten the time that we are apart.

Offer Fair Winds and Following Seas, and Angels to guide them while they keep us ALL free!

Good Morning Ladies -

Thanks for the encouragement - the whiner has left the building and I'm back. =) I want to apologize, I know I'm not morbidly obese and that I over react to extra weight, so just rack it up to me being a bit of a nut job. =)

On the boobies subject, after I had Cody I had a boob job and the girls are still hanging in there nicely. Saline, cause the silicone one's had just been banned. Only bitch part is that during cold weather the saline really holds the cold. Lol....  refreshing!

Howdy Hurley and Lyn. So nice to hear from you guys.

Hurley - have fun at the weddings. Can't wait to see pics. I think they can be so pretty. Hope you are getting some help with all that. Deep cleansing breath and sample the wine often. =)

DO - you make me laugh. Maybe I should try the ice cream therapy. I love ice cream. When I was a child my great grandfather lived with us and insisted on homemade ice cream every night. We had so many wonderful flavors (bought from a place that made them fresh daily).  Lemon, Licorice, Cherry - with big chunks of halved cherries, bubble gum - whole gumballs, and rocky road. Definitely getting me a little bit tonight. =)

So tomorrow Travis flies to Hawaii. Haley is so excited, even though she might not get to see him for a few days due to indoc. I will get to chat with her for sure next Tuesday. I should also be getting my genetics results back that week or next. Little miss Audrey (our newest cat) is recovering nicely from her spay. She's all sweet now. Lol... they really did remove the P & V from her. The vet informed me we have a ear mite infestation. So I'm treating all 6 of the animals with drops twice a week. I also got the quote on revolution treatments. Lordy! $97.00 a month to treat 5 cats and 1 dog. Ouch! It is suppose to be the most effective treatment out there right now for fleas, ear mites and intestinal worms. It's cool that it treats 3 different things, but $97.00 a month on top of wet food, dry food & litter. Can't do it. I'm going to see if I can split a large dog dose and bring that cost down a bit.

Cody will be off tubing this weekend with my sister and her family in Vancouver, WA. We are putting him on the train up & back so he doesn't have to drive in Portland. He hasn't had any freeway experience either, so I'd rather not just throw him to the dogs. The following weekend he's driving him and his girlfriend Katie to the coast for the day. They are very excited. This will actually be there first big solo adventure. That weekend is also the Daffodil Festival in Amity so I think if the weather is cooperative, I'll go take pictures. Probably come home with a few too. Lol....  Then on the 25th is the big Tulip Festival and at the end of May is the Iris Festival. So guess what? You'll all be treated to lots of flower pictures. Ha ha ha..... oh the inhumanity.

Well little Audrey has fallen asleep on my arm so it's making typing uncomfortable. I don't have the heart to disturb her. Our animals are so spoiled.

Have a wonderful day today everyone and thanks again for cheering me up and putting a little perspective into my pathetic woes. =)

Hugs to all and a Hoorah to our sailors. =)

Howdy! Been out of town for a week and just catching back up but wanted to say HI!  Hopefully everyone is doing great :-)

And AJ - I swear I have gone a month easy without hearing from A when he's all caught up in his own life.  I'm sure this too will pass for you girl...hang tough.

Diets - ugh.  I'd managed to lose about 6lbs before this trip and just weighed this morning and 3lbs are back.  *sigh*  Back to my routine!
