AJ you know you're going to have to help all of us through this when it's our turn. You and Aaron were on our internet prayer list today. Your previous post did not freak us out, we've all thought that way at one time or another, you just put it into words (like you are so good at). Thank you so much for sharing that striking picture of the ship. God speed USS Boxer, USS Comstock, and USS Green Bay!
We're kind of smarting here, because we know a Marine that was shot on Valentines and died last Friday. His wife is due to give birth any day now. So she got the chocolate and flowers on Valentines morning, then found out he was shot Valentines evening. Their last name is Carpenter, please pray for her.
Moped Mary, you are so funny. I liked your 1 day closer outlook. Keep it up sunshine!
LynB I put my son's big picture up @ church. When he was home for the holidays I heard, "MOOOM!" yet I could tell he was kind of glad. They love being the peacock in that uniform. We had some professional candid shots taken of the boys over the holidays by a friend in the business. They turned out so unique that we're thinking about publishing them in black and white as The Cracker Jack series. If I knew how to do photos on the internet like you girls do, I'd share. They kind of have that sur real look. I know how happy you must be to finally have your photos. Was your sailor targeted for lost paper in all mediums?
MrsB what's the new orders?
AJ - thanks for the link. I didn't know about that.
And hang in there!
You know what may help pass time AJ?
Make a scrap book of costa rica!:)
So he can see ALL the fun you had when he gets back!!!
Just keep adding pictures and take pictures of EVERYTHING! So it feels like he's right there!
So the USS Boxer left today with many friends hubby's, b/f's and sons...yeah, I"m a little emotional. LOL...even though it's not my hubby, it's bringing close to home the deployment we just found out about... :( ARGHHHH! I really, really HATE being alone and this deployment is going to SUCK.
Anyways, hope you ladies are doing well! Hang in there everyone! Life goes on and missing loved ones won't stop it...and they'll be back.
You haven't been a baby, nor scared us away with your personal post.
We're all females, we've all experianced the whorrid monthly gift. Mine is irregular so I completey understand the having it, thinking its done for awhile then getting it when you least expect it.
You just happened to get it back at a terrible time, which probably isn't helping you emotionally.
You're being motherly...that's completely normal..having floods of being sad and other emotions, it's normal, and were all here every step of the way because at some point everyones sailor will be deployed, and we will still be here step by step for support. you have to crawl before you can walk, this first deployment, that's the crawl..the next deployment, though it may not be EASIER, you will be ready. you will know what its like and you will be ready for anything ithas to throw at you. dont feel bad. vent all you like:) we're here to help you right back up!
Fair winds and following seas to all of them, they will make us proud:)
Have not read any posts here yet ..... popping over to say that I just watched the USS Green Bay leave the port ..... Comstock next ..... and then the Boxer ..... with tears streaming here, I can tell you gals that if there is any way to be there when they deploy ...... it is for sure the best. This way sucks.
Sorry that I've been such a baby for all these days. Truly.
Mary - sorry I missed your post. 6 months wait! Oh I bet that will drive your son crazy. I'm two wheeled challenged too. I grew up riding horses on our ranch and not bicycles or anything else with two wheels. Thus I'm pretty special when it comes to being on any of those contraptions. Lol..... I've hit parked cars riding a bike. Anyhow, I will continue to try and improve my skills, but with plenty of protective padding to avoid what you have described in your post. Tell your son we hope his waiting time goes by fast.
Morning Ladies -
AJ - Oh you poor thing. What a double edged sword for you. You want information to know what's going on but that information only makes you worry more. Hang in there, wish I could be there to help you. A mother's worry is unstoppable. People say, don't worry....hah! Like that will ever happen. I just don't have the words to express how much I feel for your anxiety and pain. I would love to be able to make it easier, better for you somehow, but I know nothing will but time. Sadly, you'll get use to it. How did any of the Mom's in any of the times of war in our history ever make it through? Know that all of us here have you on our mind right now, along with all the other mom's of sailors and Marine's that will be right beside your son during this deployment. Together - we will help you make it through this. I'm sending you the biggest and best Hugs and thoughts I posses. What post could you possible write that would freak us out? We are not here to judge you. We are here to support, love and be friends to each other. We whine together, cry together, laugh together and even rant when we need too. I say feel free to express yourself, and don't be embarrassed about it. It's who you are and frankly, I kind of like you. =)
Lyn - So glad you got your photo's. I just finally got my transferred into real frames. Every time I look at her picture all I can think of is her saying -"Mom, we weren't wearing the whole uniform - our pants were NWU's" and then picturing it. I bet they were giggling up a storm at how silly they thought they looked.
Well ladies, I think our friend and fellow mom AJ needs a Hoorah & hug. So lets all give her a special one.
HOORAH AJ! Love you. =)
