BAMBOO MASSAGES ARE AMAAAAAZING!:)
Hahaha.
Well, tomorrow is my Grandmas 71st birthday, so i'm throwing her a huuuuge surprise party, i've collaborated it within a week & its going to be absolutely awesome!
Get my lisence on saturday & i'm insanely excited!!
well, sorry for the short post, got to get birthday stuff ready!
Oh to be in Costa Rica with AJ and a massage by Mary..........In stead of being sick here and still having to go to work. Come on AJ I need a fix!
Iris, those owl pictures were so cool! What fun that must have been shooting them.
Blessings to all!
Good Morning Ladies. Well I had my genetics counseling yesterday, doctor's apt and lab work. That and the hubby wanting to play (dink around town) kept me busy. Preliminary just from the family history puts me in the 5% range of having Lynch Syndrome. So not too shabby. I'll take those odds. They are going to test my tumor to see if there are mutations. If so then I can have myself tested for the mutation that runs $1000 - $5000 depending on which gene's they test. Yikers!!!! If I come up positive then I will probably have a hysterectomy and have my ovaries removed. Because ovarian cancer is so hard to detect, they recommend them removed and because Lynch Syndrome colon cancer REALLY likes to attack the uterus, I'd get all that gone. Early Menopause, woo hoo.... Seriously, I mean Woo Hoo. To be warm.. ah....
Anyhow, enough mumbo jumbo. How the heck are all of you?
Mrs. B - Yay, more time with the hubby. I know this has been a difficult adjustment for you. But you are doing great. Keep it up sunshine! We are here for you when you need us. Also, glad to see little TJ just has a bug and nothing more serious. Scary when our littles are sick, no matter how big they get.
Mary - What is a CEU class? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Lord if we all had the $$$ and time, we'd be there with AJ. What a paradise. Yep AJ, I'm green with envy. =)
Lyn - I totally understand those little things you depend on. For me it's gallon size ziplock bags. I love them. Sorry your celebration was postponed, but what a sweetheart of a man to help his colleague like that. Sounds like you have a keeper there. =)
Hurley - so nice to hear from you. You're alive! Lol.... Fill us in on the happenings in your life when you can and don't be such a stranger. We miss you.
Well my darling hubby and I have been celebrating up a storm this week. Sunday we took the hike with his Dad and he bought me a Garmin GPS for my van. I set the voice to a British guy named Daniel. It's hilarious. Very handy devise. Monday we exchanged cards and he got me a Starbucks card too. Mmmm... coffee. Today is our "meet" anniversary and no matter how hard we try to let this one go, we are both thankful to have gotten together on this day all those years ago. We are just romantic's at heart, I suppose. Now all we have is his birthday on Friday. I will probably take him out to lunch that day and I need to get him a few fun gifts. He's so difficult to shop for, but I'll find something.
Anyhow, here I go rambling on and on. Somebody elses turn now.
Latest Haley update is that she called yesterday and wanted the Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry recipe. I think she was going to do some cooking for someone there. She's still counting down the days till Travis arrives. Meantime, she's trying to stay busy and distracted so she doesn't mope too much.
Well I'm going to go do a workout - Turbo Jam. Wish me luck. If I can make it through the 20 minute workout, I'll be stoked. Hard road back, but I'm up for the challenge. =)
Hugs to all my peeps!!!
Hey Ladies, just stopping in to say hi...the hubby is in Indoc right now, then will be working on the base galley for a while...which I hear everyone does on his ship, before they actually start the official work. He'll be there for a few months, I guess! Which is nice...no more grease covered hubby! LOL
Something went majorly wrong with his ship's shafts so the ship will be in dry-dock even longer now, which is awesome for me...means no pending deployments for a LONG time. THANK GOD! I just don't do well with him being gone and I haven't had one duty day/night go by yet without loosing it and crying my eyes out. :( Guess it's time for me to grow up, but I've always been this way. My dad used to go on long trips (TV producer) for shoots overseas and I'd cry all the time too, so I guess I get really attatched to people and then of course, I don't want them to be gone.
Hope you all are doing well. I don't have time to read everything, but I did see that Iris, you had a nice time with Haley! I hope she and Travis have a great life together!!!!
Many blessings to all of you-
Mrs. B
Oh the owl!! So cool!
And AJ - the verbal picture you painted of Costa Rica is fabulous - can you post a real photo from out your window for us too? Smoking volcanoes are simply stupendous.
The foil here, even the 'heavy duty' is totally flimsy. Real aluminum foil, and canned Libbys Corned Beef Hash...sigh. It is totally the little things. I've already started the shopping list for May.
So Valentines Day yesterday - also marked 2 years in Perth. So I was all dolled up, candles, champagne, chocolate truffles, something pink on when I get a call. "Honey, one of the guys who just arrived from the states has a pain in his leg and I'm taking him to the doctor.". An hour later "Honey we're at the emergency room, he's got deep vein thrombosis". And another hour later: "can you bring us some food?". Then 2 minutes later "nevermind, the doctor just came in". Poor guys - they didn't get out of there until after 9PM. I think we get a do over tonight! (and the patient should be fine - has to take blood thinners).
Haha, It actually reminded me of that too when you said that!!!!
No offence taken:)
Hmmm... seems I lost part of my post. AJ this happened to you too. Is there a word limit. Lol...
So... I think I wrote "she was singing "Only 20 more days till I see Travis, only 20 more days till I see Travis"... Lol...
Then I wrote that my husband, me, my father-in-law and his fiance, went for a little hike to see if we could locate our Great horned Owl nesting. Sure enough, she's sitting.
I especially like the peek a boo one.
Well, I'll go so I don't screw this one up.
Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Hugs!!!
OMG - wow you have been chatting up a storm. YAY! I took notes as I read to help me remember. Lol....
First - Happy Valentine's Day to all you brilliant, fantastic, fabulous, wonderful, talented, fantastic Ladies.
Mary - Thank you so much for the nice photo comments. I don't know if I feel bad for Dereck's sister or not? I understand brotherly protectiveness, but sometimes that can stifle instead of encourage. Hopefully if Morgan really wants to join, she'll do it. I'm a strong believer in living ones life to the fullest. It's good though that Dereck has given her food for thought. Wouldn't want her going in blind on so tough a job. Keep us posted.
Nicole - Thanks for the photo comments. I think Haley is pretty stunning too. Hmmmmm.... exciting news about the new guy. Be careful, I know how much you want to join the Navy, so don't take any chances. Congrats on you wearing your Dad down to sign in December. Lol... I can well imagine your persistence. He really didn't have a chance, did he? Lol.... Your dress and hair (now don't get offended) remind me of the Flintstones. Your a hot prehistoric chic. Yabba Dabba Doo..... Please don't take that wrong. I love the look, that's just what it reminds me of. Very animalistic. Rawrrrr..... Hope you had a blast.
DO - Sorry your son is injured. That's tough to deal with long distance. Hope he heals quickly. Ah.. the marriage seminar. Yep, that would feel a bit ackward, but good for you guys for hanging in there and doing it. I'm sure it will be helpful to them. Hope you are having a great Valentines day. =)
Dyl's - I simply <3 Yogi. He's just so darn cute. Kitten is getting to be quite the handful. Time to take a little of that P&V out of her. Spay apt soon. I'm so happy for you that Dyl's will be done soon. I know how hard it is for them to have patience. They are young and ready to get the show on the road. =)
AJ - Thank you for the wonderful picture comments. You are such a doll. Oh I feel so much for you. Aaron not really communicating like you'd like, deploying soon, very scary and unsettling. Hang in there sweetie and know we are here for you. I think sending your care package after he's been gone a few months is a great idea. He's young and doesn't even realize what a great support you can be to him. He's probably just more concerned about what the other guys will say. Ugh!! Men. Speaking of which, I sure hope you and Hank will figure out the best thing for your relationship. Limbo sucks. Seems like I'm saying this a lot, but hang in there and try to make decisions that enhance your happiness. Costa Rica - oh DROOL!!!! You definitely deserve to be enjoying that fabulous view. Love your description. Only makes me want to travel more. Enjoy all that beauty and your adopted family.
Lyn - YAY!!!! How exciting that you will have a whole month in the US to see everyone. Woo Hoo... Happy Dance! May is usually pretty descent weather too, so that will only enhance the experience. Take lots of pics. I think I'm in love with your Mom. Lol.... HS graduation party at the Retirement Home. Sounds like a roof raiser to me! And aluminum foil....lol.... your killing me. I get it, but it's still funny.
Well, Haley was kind of down in the dumps yesterday morning but seemed better in the evening (I'm a hell of a cyber stalker it turns out, thanks to skype). Travis and she were suppose to Skype Saturday but had such a crummy connection that they only were able to stay on about 3 minutes and then IM'd a little after that. So the plan was to try again Sunday. I chatted with her before that and she was missing him something fierce. Later when I checked back in she sounded much better. Nothing like a little boyfriend time to cheer her up. She was singing a cou
