good idea mrs b about the letter!  that way they can't argue and sometimes reading something in black and white come across a little more clear that hearing someone say it.  I hope it works out!

Mary, did you have to go buy a barbie or are you using the ones you used to play with?  ha!    sounds about right about the car driving.....  that is sooo funny!  i only laugh because i imagine i would hear the same thing outta dyl's mouth too!

so we went a little crazy today......yes, i finally broke down and let hubby buy his harley!   what was i thinking?   i'm sooo excited to make that first payment i just can't stand myself!  NOT!   he's been so patient the last 22 years....i just couldn't keep saying no.  the last time he went and bought a motorcycle, i made him take it back.  not good!   so now he's like a little kid with a new toy....i think maybe he giggled all the way to work so that made me feel good.  wonder how good i'll be feeling when i write out that check?    ha!   so i guess i gotta go me some h.d. gear....  do you think i should get some leather chaps and a tattoo?  hee hee!  i suppose it's might be a good thing since it will be something we actually do together.  we don't have much of that these days.  we'll see....

gotta run....getting late.  hope everyone had a great saturday!  talk to ya'll soon....

Ladies! thank you all for all your sweet, well thought out comments and words about our situation with Paul's parents and family. I SO appreciate it! I've had the flu for like 5 days now or so and just haven't gotten around to thanking you all. I'm so sorry! I DO, DO, DO appreciate it.  I will let you all know how things go. We wrote a VERY detailed letter to the whole family and made things clear on how we weren't going to let their drama into our lives and that they needed to make things right with us, not us them.. Anyways...that's where things stand.  Blessings to you all! I would go and read everything every said, but my head is pounding and TJ is sleeping, so I'm going to rest.

Happy Saturday!

donna, love the acronyms!  those are funny!  probably because all that stuff just seems to be around the corner!  ha!  oh....an aj, cool shirt!  i can't believe you found that!

iris....sounds like your having fun on your buns!  ha!  sounds like you'll have it down in no time and looking awesome to boot!  you go girl!

mary, when is derek gonna come home and let you drive his car?  hahahahaha!   if he's anything like dyl's, it would be "hands off!".  glad he's still doing well in his school.

oh yeah!  i heard from dyl's!   geeeeez, i almost forgot!  he says he's doing fine.  just mostly following his boss around and learning how to do watches.  he said the food is pretty good.  he said that landing on the carrier was cool.  he said he experienced a few "G's" and then when they hit the platform, he was slammed to the back of his seat.  way cool.....  guess he can mark that off his bucket list!  ha!   says his shop is pretty laid back but it's really hot where they are.  said the ship is sweating.....literally...he gets dripped on most of the day from the condensation.  he's glad that the shop is air conditioned.  didn't say much more than that except to not send him any inappropriate material in his emails....(really?  i can't believe he thinks he has to tell his mom that!)  anyway, i read that the big e had an american idol contest.  sounded pretty cool.  at the end, they picked a winner and did a celebration so i think they have some fun on the ship.  i feel better .....at least for now.  i'm just wondering when he's going to have to do that cranking stuff.  not looking forward to that.   aj, at least your son has done some and doesn't have too much longer.  yeah!

ok... gotta run...it's getting late and i think i'm turning into a pumpkin!  talk to ya'll soon.   rsl...ebb...

Morning Ladies -

Donna - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE... the acronyms. Fav's are - FWIW, LMDO, and ROFLACGU.  Awesome!

Mary - I'm a Converse whore. 17 pairs so far. I'm sure you have me beat with purses. Were you able to resist the garage sale or did you score? Lol....  Sorry your final days of freedom were cut short. Cody still has a few more weeks. They aren't out until June 16th.

Okay - First practice. It was awesome. I like to make a big entrance, so the first thing I did once, I was geared up, was to do an, all fours in the air, fall on top of another derby girl, her open metal skate box and the concrete floor. Got a gash on my back, my ass...OMG the pain, and I hit the other girls healing injury. I felt really bad. But we derby girls are a tough lot. After I recovered my dignity briefly, we hit the floor. I spent the next two hours in Derby stance (squatting while skating) or doing some sort of squatting exercise. Did I mention OMG my ass? This morning I was barely able to lower myself down on the potty. Guess what I'm going to go get today before my next practice? Lol... yep butt pads. I'll wear those lady lumps with pride. I'm trying to work through it cause I have Saturday practice. I figured I'd be feeling things at first. I'm going to be so bootylicious by the time I'm finished. Lol.... Anyhow, can't wait to go back for more.

My little coonies are doing pretty well. The littlest one has me concerned though. Neither will take the bottle, but the little one will lick the nipple. This morning though, she did bite it a couple of time. That's encouraging. I think she's loosing weight. =(  I hate to force feed her cause it causes her so much stress and she cries. Breaks my heart. But I'm not sure what else I can do. I'm taking her back in to be weighed and talk to Mary (animal care coordinator). I hope we can find a good solution soon.

Well, I need to do coon laundry. ICKY!!!! Gotta go hose off the bedding and then bleach the hell out of them. Coon poo is so nasty. Then it off to get my butt pad and weight the little darlings.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I might not be back on till Monday. Company, practice, date night, Schriener's Festival....etc. Let's hope for some sunshine and calm, beautiful weather. RSL, EBB and TTYL. =) Hugs all.

d o!  Does your husband enjoy riding a motorcyle also?  I was searching for a 'don't mess with me I raised a Sailor' item today, and I found this and thought it was fun.

Morning Ladies -

Donna - Oh, that stinks. Sorry you missed her skype. Grrr....  Maybe she will try again soon. Tough not knowing details about where she is. On the bright side you know she was thinking about you. =) I'm routing for another call though, cause talking with her would be even better.

Dyl's Mom - Sorry your computer or the site or whatever is being a butt. I guess we get sound bites from you until it's fixed. Lol....  We'll just call you short and sweet. =)

Hurley posted on FB that she's packing to go see her son in NJ (I think that is where) for graduation. Safe travels and sweet memories to be made. =)

My excitement today is Derby practice at 1800. In the meantime, it's laundry, garbage & recycling, cat littler, dishes, general tidying, figure out dinner for hubby & son, and take care of baby racoons. Still having issue with them eating. Although I forced 20 cc's down their throats at midnight and they seemed content afterwards. I feel so guilty cause it's a real fight to get food in them. Maybe they will catch on or I'll figure out a less traumatic way, cause I hate doing it, but the little darling's need to eat. Anyhow, I will get pics once it's nice out and I take them outside for a little play in the yard. Right now it's still raining. Booo.... I'm hoping at least Sunday will be nice for the Schriener's Iris Festival. My sister Charity and her kids will be here Sunday morning and head back Monday day. My sister Rose and cousin Natalie will meet us there. Anyhoo... that's my big plans.

Hope everyone has a good day. Stop in and throw up a word or two on your "to do" list. Lol... Hugs!

So glad that everyone has been accounted for now. Was really worrying about Shelly as I knew she was right close to it all.

Missed a skype from my daughter last night. She never calls and rarely e-mails and has never skyped since she boarded. I am always home. For once, we had a really nice day and I  had 3 of my granddaughters so took them to the park for a picnic. When I got home this message that said "hey" was on my skype. So bummed! They are in port somewhere (and I don't know where) and I don't know how long they will be there. The careline says they can't give us any information at this point in their deployment. Better to keep them safe though so I am ok with that.

Hope this weather starts to turn for the good here anytime. It is almost summer and all these tornadoes, flooding and utter devastation has got to stop soon.

Hope all continue to hear from their sailors.
