DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Marylou:  If you would like to private message on here with someone, just click on "add a friend" on their page, which you get to by clicking on their screen name or picture.  Once they accept your request, their pik will appear under your FRIENDS section on your own page, and they may send you a message.  Friend requesting just allows you to trade more personal info than you can post on this page.  You just need to test it out.  When you see a lady on here from your division or brother division, just friend request them and you can practice that way.  Once you are friends, you can trade names, etc that way and get to know each other!

BattleStations for this PIR group will start next Thurs night....none on Fri or Sat, probably not Sun nights either, resuming on Mon and Tues nights.  It is a 12 hr overnight drill....they call anywhere from 2 pm Central on the day they finish.  That is a wonderful phone call!  Won't be long now!  The PIR 09//05 group is just starting to receive the first I'm a Sailor calls for their group right now!

I received a letter from my SR yesterday he also had Pneumonia he's being with antibiotic and 24 hrs of rest. Also, worry about the final PFA. Please add him to your prayers!  :(

Ok, I'm a huge FB user.  Love it!  But I don't understand some of the aspect of this site.  Why do ladies 'friend request' on here?  What does it do when you accept?  How do you ladies use that?  I'm so confused so early this morning.  lol

Thanks,

2navykids ~ I'm sure it's Central.  Some of them only had a one minute phone call to give a heads-up for the phone call today!  Keep them by your side!  Hope everyone in 818 gets to call.  I think they earned it, but I'm not positive about that.
