~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

proudmom:  Call Navy Lodge directly to book your reservation.  If you do not have military ID yourself, book in your SR's name.  Better to call them directly since sometimes the online reservations may say they are full, but if you call them directly, they may have cancellations.

Navy Lodge Great Lakes....google it!

NvyBoi:  I think most divisions will be in Training Week 1 this week.  There are 6 actual training weeks, the 6th week concluding with BattleStations, and they PIR during week 7.

Comment by CatMom509 on August 3, 2014 at 4:51pm

NvyBoi,

You could write your SR and ask that the training week and day be put on the tops of his letters:  2-3, 2-4, 2-5, etc...Then you can calculate where his division should be based on his letters~~

Does anyone know the exact Training Day they would be on?  It's hard for me to guess the Day since my son was in the beginning of the TG and had to wait for it to fill.  I am guessing that Monday will be the start of week 2.

Comment by Mamaof4 on August 3, 2014 at 12:51pm

I am in the same boat.  I sent my son, Kevin, a calling card as soon as I got the form letter, but I know he hasn't gotten it yet.  He is also in Ship 2 Div. 945 - No phone call yet.  I'm hoping he went to the NEX and bought a calling card.  My fingers are crossed.
