N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Coedy's Mama,

Could you please delete your post where you revealed your SR's last name by clicking on the X on the upper right corner?   Last names are not allowed.  We don't want the RDCs to single your SR for any extra exercise activity!!  Thank you~~

Danaproud, I didn't know, but when I when i saw that I had missed calls when I had had my phone in my hand the whole time and then I had 2 missed calls and then starting looking at settings and so this minus sign and when I punched it, it came up blocked something or other and then there was a message box that said blocked calls was enabled and that numbers not saved to my phone would be blocked, that is not the exact wording but close.

Agreeing with dreajacks - our SR said they sit around and share news from each other's letters.  Of course sports was a highlight for my boy!  He told me to keep giving the updates.

So happy for all those that received phone calls today. I was so excited when I saw the posts about the phone calls from ship 11 div 366 because that is the same as my sons but no phone call for me.....

So glad to see everyone is getting phone calls! I got mine this morning as well. Ship 11 DIV 365....My SR sounded amazing! Much better then I expected. He is only 17 and will be spending his 18th birthday there. I have been very worried about how he was doing but after the call I feel relieved! He too said his bunk mate was 27 and was very nice. And that he wrote me letters with the names of his "friends" he already made :) Already bought our plane tickets and made our reservations at the Navy Lodge! Can't wait!!!! Seems as if most of our SR's are getting thorough the hard times by helping each other out. He said they read their letters and shared and laughed with one another. September 27th couldn't get here fast enough!!

My SR said he's good buddies with an SR who is around 27 so not sure if any wives/girlfriends (or even mom's) on here have an SR in 365 who may match that but wanted to put it out there just in case to put your mind at ease he's doing great! :)

There are actually only 6 training weeks during Bootcamp for all of the SRs.  The rest of the "Bootcamp Days" include the processing days when they arrive and the extra days between their finishing BattleStations and PIR.  Those in push divisions have less days but get it all done!
