Welcome to PIR 09/28/2012!

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

What should we wear for graduation?
Comment by diannep on September 14, 2012 at 7:05pm

...should add that the shuttles bypass the car lines.  We were on the 6:30 one from Residence.  No lines to wait in at the front gate for security.

Comment by diannep on September 14, 2012 at 7:04pm

Leisa;  Many who have driven said it isn't bad.   This is a large group though, so the lines will be long.  You would just need to be in the line EARLY in the morning...

Here are the hotels I know for sure use the PIR shuttle:

Residence Inn Waukegan, Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Ramada (I believe has it's own...), not sure about the others but I know that more do.  The PIR shuttle is actually the taxi service that operates as shuttles that day ($3/pp each way-sailor usually returns with you for free).

Shuttle to PIR.  I thought i read somewhere that the Navy Lodge has a shuttle to take you to PIR, but I just confirmed that is not true.  Does anyone know where you can take a shuttle to the PIR, only asking because I heard to drive your car inside is a pain.  Any info would be appreciated.  thanks and have a great weekend!

blakesmom:  My son had the same thing happen when there.  He was told that he could retake the test during A School.  Not sure if he did that or not.

To clarify...by "they", I meant his letters. His letters have been very positive. Especially this last one. Per my SR, "...it's getting good; exciting stuff is happening!"
Comment by Maile_N5 on September 14, 2012 at 1:04pm
No word from my SR on BS dates, etc. Come to think about it, he never provides dates for any of the events. Hmmm. LOL! I guess no matter as long as they keep remaining positive. Right? The time to see them again is drawing near....happy thoughts to all you!
