For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by blakes mom on September 14, 2012 at 11:31am: Received another depressing letter from my SR yesterday. He was in the middle of weapons testing and was cut, so he was automatically failed. He said that he won't be able to carry a loaded pistol now. He didn't explain that, so I don't know if that means for his entire Navy career, or just until (or if) they allow him to retest. Plus, he had a perfect score up until that point. Does anybody have any information on what protocol is for that kind of situation??

Really excited with their holiday routine on Labor Day and said they got a BBQ with some good food. He said he qualified Sharpshooter during live fire so he gets a ribbon. Other than that he was light on specifics of what was going on or coming up.

Hope those who didn't get letters yesterday get them today.
