For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. Comment by SusanGMom of 2 on September 9, 2012 at 10:45am: Had a wonderful get together yesterday for lunch with a great group of Navy Mom's from WA, we even had a few Dad's join us. That may have been the allure of the Cheesecake Factory but I am not sure.

Anyway, It was a great way to spend some time on a Saturday and talking and sharing info about our Sailors and for a few of us our SR's.

I ordered 4 ribbons a few weeks ago and now I was planning what to wear so the red ribbon would match our clothes lol. Funny how the smallest details are so important for his PIR. I can't think of anything else, hope I don't get fired :-)

Comment by Proudnavymom313 on September 8, 2012 at 8:35pm: It's really funny, we have all been about Hell Week. Most of the comments I have seen have been positive. My letter this week was upbeat and the most postitive letter that I have received to date. He did great on his PRT's (Not sure if that is the right acronym, or even if I spelled acronym correctly). 0 Hits on his inspections, and he was really excited about both gun days. Said he feels better, sickness is FINALLY going away. I was a little upset when I found out my letter was 1 1/2 pages and his girl friends was 8. I have found if I have questions about anything I just ask her. and Lala Ribbon I sent you a friend request....Also, my son said he really likes his bunk mate. It is the section leader. He told me his last name, but I know we are not suppose to put them on here. So if your son is section leader of 313. He and my son are bunk mates.
