Welcome to PIR 09/28/2012!

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

proudwife, Woohoo on the call.  I bet your toddler was so happy.

Jolene, ((Hugs))  my prayers to your SR as well.  I'm sure he is getting the best care and will be good as new in no time.

KTK, I would suggest that you dress in layers and bring some closed toed shoes just in case.  The late summer weather could go either way in GL.

Lala, aww, ((hugs))  I'm glad to hear that your family will be back today.

KTK...no reason to be nervous, anything particular that is stressing you out that I can assist with?

Good Morning all.

The long weekend is coming to an end "sigh" I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent the whole weekend alone. My hubby and son were away on a fishing trip and it was way too quiet here. I will be so glad when they get home tomorrow night :-) I am sure your recruits were happy to get an extra "holiday" routine this weekend. And hopefully that means extra letters coming this week. Just remember everything will be delayed a day because of the holiday.

I just realized your PIR is on my Dad's 70th birthday :-)

Prayers are always a wonderful thing and my prayers to your recruit as well Jolene :-)

Thank you for all the encouraging words...and the promise of prayer support for Justin and the rest of us. He has no desire to quit, so I know he will push forward until he accomplishes his goal.

Happy Labor Day to everyone, and I have to say I am getting excited to fly out to see him. This site and group has helped so much, not sure about others but my son is not the most informative on things. :) I was wondering since i am from Florida and we are shorts and flipflops all year around, how is the weather in the Great Lakes?? I am still nervous about this whole trip but postive

Jolene:  So very sorry about his....the delays are not fun for sure.  But know that most recover from these stress fractures (the most common injury in bootcamp) and continue training, becoming sailors.  Hoping it won't take the full 8 weeks to recover...he will constantly be medically assessed so hoping the training will start back for him earlier.  Prayers for all....

Happy Labor Day to all!
