sassyblonde: Hoping that you are home for a call soon....like maybe this weekend? My son managed to catch me at home a few times when he was at bootcamp on the weekends.
You are right...after bootcamp, it is so much better with them having their cells/laptops and back in contact! So hang in there. It gets better!
Under a Hurricane Watch down here, but a Hurricane Warning just 20 miles south into the Keys. Isaac is still a Tropical Storm but expected to become a hurricane soon. Nasty weather here now, not related to the storm, so we will already be saturated. Please pray, ladies! Thanks so much! We are used to hurricanes, but many of us (me included) had to drop our windstorm (hurricane) insurance coverage since it was way too expensive. YIKES! So lots or prayers that this thing will weaken and turn WEST!
The 2nd letter I got from my son said he hasn't received any of my letters and I've sent so many & a card!!! I haven't gotten a call yet either. I'm so bumming! I know he doesn't know my cell number by heart and I can't always stay home and wait and be disappointed by no call :( I can't wait until this is over and he can have his cell phone back.
Oh Proudgirlfriend, I am so sorry. Did you have the wrong address, not enough postage? Hopefully some of them got to him. Just fix the problem and send them again. He will be so glad to get them.
They usually don't have time to grab a phone number list and most of the time they don't even know they are going to make calls. They tend to surprise them with calls a lot. he better be memorizing that number lol. Glad to see the calls coming in though.
@diannep I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot. He even wrote the wrong city in the first letter I received from him! He wrote the city where he lived in college (Tempe, AZ) and not where I live (Scottsdale, AZ). He must be tired!
I guess I will be sure to write my cell number in each letter I mail now. But I do know he has that number in his sheet of numbers. Oh well, I guess I just have to keep waiting.
Hmmm....I would suggest that those with SRs in Div 312 err on the side of caution then when mailing things. Letters may be the safe thing to send! No tissues in them!
jainz: He does know your cell phone number, right? Because we are all so used to just hitting the name of the person on the phone, that some may not know the number, especially if it is a fairly new one.
For anyone who is not sure that their SRs remember their cell phone number, include it in each letter...just so they won't forget!
