Anybody else from 04/820 get a 'real' letter yet?
My SR is not much on writing letters - loves to read them - but generally will give back a one-word response; still, one can hope, and there's been no real letter for me yet. Curious if the 800 DIV's were running close to the same schedule as the 300 DIV's (lots of letters coming in there - yea moms!). :)
....just wondering.....
Casper: My son is a chatterbox too (wanted to be an actor)....so the no talking was tough for him.....he didn't even talk much after PIR! I think he was still afraid he would get in trouble!
ADDED the Division Discussion for 02/946.
Your son sounds F.U.N Casper64! Congrats on the letter and the "ok". LOL
Got the first real letter today and I have read it like 6x. Hang in there y'all it will happen. My son sounded okay. He misses us and the outside world. He really wants to know what is happening on the home front (world). He said that PT isn't so bad but all the ironing and book-work is tiring. LOL He also doesn't like the fact that he has to keep quiet - no talking most everywhere. He used to just talk to hear himself. I think stand up comic was going to be his second choice if the Navy passed on him ;-) wink wink wink! He just wants us all to send letters and he gave me the okay to talk about AnyThing!
Cheers and Go Navy!!
OMG< what a stressful week this has been. I finally feel like I can breath lol. I am so sorry I have not been here much this week. The first week of school has been so hectic. So glad tomorrow is Friday. I am going to try and catch up on all the posts now before I have to cook dinner. I hope you all have had a good week. I know you missed me lol.
Celia: I went to school at Auburn U. I'm from S. FL. When I went up there, they looked at me like I was an alien. This was back in the early 70's and there weren't many from S. FL up at Auburn. They told me I talked like a "d___n Yankee" even though from FL! Then...when I would go home...my family/friends would tell me I had a ridiculous southern accent. Sigh....I couldn't win... :-)
My son relayed to me back in his bootcamp days how sometimes the RDCs would get right in his ear and yell. He said it would hurt, he would yell so loud...but worse than that, he would be spitting as he yelled and that was spraying all over his ear. YUCK! :-)
