Just got a letter from our son today!!!! We are from the south, so he tells me that the northeners are weird and talk funny, but they think he says weird stuff and talks funny...haha! But he said it sucks there and wants a lot of letters!! Doesn't sound like he has received any of ours...I hope he does soon! Glad we are all finally getting our letters! :)

Oh yikes! Not good...I don't know WHY people DO that!

Okay...well...I DO know why (after 28 years of it)...but I'm still "a girl" so I chuckle, shake my head and am annoyed all at the same time!

Ha, was probably the recruits "bud"...well, here is a motto for that recruit to send back..."Payback's a med evac."

It has been HOT whereI am at too...107+...and humid which is not the norm. But it figures as we just put in a swamp cooler and couldn't use it! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Yay! I got a letter from my son today!  He says BT is hard but he is doing fine.  He says he thinks about us everyday and misses us. (wow that blew me away).  There is lots of yelling (he said he doesn't mind the yelling at all) and that we would get a kick out of the drill instructor yelling in his face. He doesn't like folding or ironing his clothes (no surprise there) His favorite part of the day is chow! He didn't mention receiving any of our letters yet.  So happy and relieved to hear from him.

jainz - lol, funny you should mention that. We got a letter from my son yesterday and he mentioned that they had to march in the rain for an hour last week and said "he loved it". We're from the Phoenix metro area also and he was enjoying the rain since he sees it so little at home.

Hi Jainz, Where in AZ are you? I'm in Gilbert.

Comment by Jainz57 on August 16, 2012 at 12:39pm

FTLW, haha! Thanks for fixing the weather widget. One good thing about my son in BC is that he hasn't had to deal with the heat wave we've had in AZ. We've had straight 100+ degree days here since 7/14. yesterday finally was only 98. So knowing the weather in GL makes me feel better for him.

Yes!  All of the MeetandGreets are family friendly so bring everyone!
