Sorry fitness123, the whole conversation was probably about 1 min. long. You could tell he was given strict orders for NO chit chat. Once he found out I didn't have the info he needed to go. one address he needed was his high school one was a neighbor who could verify he had lived here all his life. He said their was a lot more. I guess for security or back ground checks, although I thought we did this when he first signed up. I really don't know. It makes me feel good to know other moms are feeling the same why I am. I know how each tid bit of info is so important. This will be our week end to hear from them. I hope.

Jen, did he elude to anything going on? My son is same div and I'm just dying here... I am so interested to hear any news in that division! Glad you got to hear his voice! Why did he need addresses??

Mandy:  Many times, they arrive at their A Schools and are on "hold' for a while before they class up.  My son was there for about 12 days before he started classes...sometimes it is longer. 

The bases usually go on "stand down" for the holidays so it is very possible that he may get a chance to come home for a little while around Christmas.  He will be advised of all of this when arriving at A School and going through INDOC which they do each time they arrive at a new base.

Jen, - yep! I got super excited and then I continued reading... and ahhh no personal phone call. But! I was excited that he sounded good. I laughed when you asked if he had been crying or was ill. I told my husband what you said and we said... yep... I would have asked the same thing! I promise.... somehow we are all related! I'm certain I must have several hundred sisters I didn't know about! Thanks for the news... it was still good news because.... there was no news!

@ jen - I just got really excited, my son is in the same division,  and then I read that it wasn't a personal call but I'd be excited about any call!  I am glad your son sounded good - I pray they are all doing well.  Thanks for sharing!

My son just called. (ship 04 div 820) I was so excited. but his first words were mom this isn't a personal phone call I need some information. He needed a list of addresses, but I was at my sisters house and couldn't get them for him. He said he would send me a list of what he needed. I was able to keep him on the phone for a few minutes. He sounded strong and confident, but that's always how he sounds. He did sound like he had a cold I asked if he was sick or if he was crying. He laughed and said I can't cry the petty officer is standing right here. He just sounded like himself. I have never before in my life understood just how precious a few seconds could be,. I hope you all have some kind of contact with your loved one soon. Prayers will go out for all of you tonight.

My husbands going into aviation structural machanic and was told a lot of the time school can be pushed back.. How long can school be pushed back? I would love him to be home for Christmas, or I'm going to need plane tickets to bring Christmas to him...
