N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Don't forget to checkout www.southwest.com for plane reservations.  If you book by Thurs, you can take advantage of their special fares going on right now.  Check about flights into Milwaukee (45 min to GL) and Chicago-Midway (hour+ to GL).

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are having a good weekend. We are pressure washing the house and decks and cleaning out the gutters. Oh the joys of not being rich enough to hire someone lol. I am too old for this :)

Good morning Everyone! Praying you all get a call or form letter soon. Also that our kids stay strong and fall into routine soon. Less than 7 weeks till we see those beautiful faces! Have a great Sunday!

Good morning everyone! I hope those get phone calls and letters, who already haven't received them. =)

kim:  Oh, thanks for clarifying that!

Kayla's#1supporter:  Yes, the ships (barracks) can be integrated.  What they do is have females from several different divisions in the same barracks, same for the guys in those integrated divisions.

The calls are so random, no matter what they are told about their next calls.  They can lose them (one SR can lose calls for the entire division), they can earn them, they can have a scheduled one, etc.  Just best to be a slave to your phone during bootcamp so you don't miss it when it comes.  :-)

Good Morning All !

Some of the SRs may not have been able to call because they were on watch.  Depends on the RDC if they get to make it up.  Also, calls for security info can come at any time during the week and are monitored--no chit chat.  You can be hunting for what is requested to get a little talk time... Just be prepared at all times!  The calls tend to come from "847" but have other designations which escape me at the moment!  Just answer all unfamiliar calls and let your family know too.  I forgot to let my husband and other daughter know and my Sailor daugher's calls were not picked up by them at least one time.  Finally she got through after trying all of us!!  The scheduled divisional calls tend to come on the weekend.

Keep your phones fully charged and with you at all times--everywhere!  One of the moms in a group answered the call and she was in the shower!  Upstairs, downstairs, out in the backyard, out to get the mail, out to the grocery store.  Have your calls forwarded from your home phone to your cell phone if you are out and about.  Put it in your bra or pocket on "vibrate" if you will be somewhere loud.
