Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

MCEastcoastmom, You are in my heart and prayers this morning. I know how hard it is to be so far away from your children when they need you but I am sure no matter what you said, it is just the sound of your voice that he needed to hear. Stay strong and remember that we are all here for you and with you.

ncoastalnavymom1994 sorry you missed your SR' call. Very upsetting I know. We couldn't hear our SR the first time he called. Took several tries and a lot of emotional frustration later we were finally able to connect. I was devastated, so I know how you must feel. Hope you will get another call this weekend. It's so tough cause we don't really know when they are going to call. Hang in there.

ncoastalnavymom1994...Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I missed my son's phone call on Saturday. About killed me! I wrote a little extra this past weekend and apologized. Because there's no set time or day they are able to call, it's bound to happen - a Mom missing their SR's call. You'll be able to make up for the missed call soon and it will make the next call all the sweeter.

They went to a family reunion in IN to see her hubby's grandmother who is in her 90's. So I got a few hours with them on the way there last Friday and now a day with them on their way back to VA. I have been soaking in all the baby love I can get. Don't ya just love a smiling, sleeping baby? This is Eastyn, my Sailor's baby. She is just over one month old and the love of my life <3
