LoriM123 - NOOOOOOOO! My son is in Ship 3/Div 337!! UGH! When are those boys going to write....I'm going crazy over here =o(
Ship 09, DIV 328 Yes! Smiles walking back from my mailbox...Got my letter today! All is going great! Qualified as a 2nd Class Swimmer. Just thought I'd share this: She wrote and said for me to send her black mascara and black eyeliner (pencil type). They are allowed to wear some for pictures and graduation day only. I've also written her several letters, but she mentioned that she has not received any of them yet. Mail is coming soon for all!
I think they are all combined. Maybe the next letter he will tell me about his battle buddy/bunk mate as well as others. Lovin the stories so far and we have so many more to come.
@Joanie & hawwbee - the boy mentioned that the guys he is hanging out with are from Denver and California, so I don't think that is your sons, but who knows who they will end up close to during the next 6 weeks.
Are they divided by SWCC and AIRR groups? Or are they all combined at this point?
Hi Ladies and Sub dads. Well, I almost kicked the mailbox--no letter (ship 3 div 337) good thing a neighbor was mowing their grass.
I love hearing about all the other SR's letters they help and make my day.
Hopefully Sat there will be a letter if not I have to wait until Tues BOOO!
Hi Everyone
Thanks to all of you that post here and keep us informed. When we are kind of down just reading here makes me feel conected to my son somehow.
@Boxinatormom Hope your SR gets thru this quickly...Thxs for the info thought chicken pox was non existent these days.
@Sub Dad At this point I think we are all expecting your Pumkin Spice Ale!
@Nifter TOOO funny!!!
@Kellee (Nick's Mom) I have a 5 and 10 year old that have had a hard time. My daughter 10 year old has had a couple of meltdowns even asking us no to send her away to bootcamp. My son 5 has demanded me to call his brother because he needs to talk to him or to go on the computer and fnd him (Skype)..my son left notes around his room for them and in his itouch he left some voice memos for them since he's kind of a comedian he sang a couple of songs and saved them for them and links to his favorite funny you tube videos. Have had to sit with them and talk explain and hopefully when they go to PIR they will see the brightside of it. There older brother left this year too he's on the USS Cole so it has been very hard for all of us to adjust. But I'm hanging in there and keeping a smile don't want my 5 year old to ask me again "MOM ,your sad?" it just beaks my heart even more so all the crying is when they are in school. : )
Thanks again for all your posts now KEEP it UP!!!
No calls or Letters from my SR yet.
i received a letter yesterday! he sounded so good! he says he has made some friends, there from daytona and atlanta. he said they all sit around and talk about how they miss their girlfriends! :) he also says that he is getting fatter! they feed him good! also he says that on sundays he gets to take a shower for longer than 2 minuites. he loves long showers! so bless his heart! it was so good to hear from him and know he is doing okay. he cant wait for graduation!
im so happy! ! ! ! !
Welcome, Grandmother! Funny to say that word since my grandmother died in 72 so I haven't said it in a very long time! Now...I am old enough to be the "grandmother" but not one yet!
Momof3djm: Wow, what a wonderful thought process for him to keep because he is exactly right on that, right? Good for him! I hope he goes to church on Sunday(they are allowed to) and really has his time with the Lord then.
thanks Melissa. I am going to keep sending to the addy as referenced in the links out here...Ohio St. :)
@Joanie - the return address was different from the one in my form letter and I wondered about it also. However, the boy mentioned that he had received 3 of my letters and letters from several friends so the address in the form letter obviously works.
I am off to research Arleigh Burke - curious about who he is now that I have seen the return address! =)
