PTL I got a letter from my son today. I am overjoyed!!!!! Still have not gotten the form letter but that is nothing compared to my hand written one. HA!
the report is that the food is actually pretty good. thrilled to hear that from my finicky eater. Lots of yelling too. But, to be expected as they learn. Didn't realize there was a competition amongst the divisions. Anyone know about that?
Hope you are all hearing from your kiddos. 42 days til PIR. GO NAVY!!!
LOL.....I just about spit my ice tea out when I read the "I'm pretty princess" part!!!
Even though I haven't received a letter yet, I'm so enjoying what has been shared. Please keep 'em coming.
Lala - she is doing better. Misses her brother something awful. She used to sit on his back when he did push ups lol. She is a little upset with me right now because I won't let her put stickers on the envelope for the card she just wrote in for her brother ;-)....kind of hard to explain how that really wouldn't be a good thing for him lol
My Daughter in Law (Kambra) recieved the paperwork to get her Military ID.
So the highlight of the day is that MAIL is getting out to us.... :}
Go Navy !!
jewels, you may be quite surprised at the letters you may get. In their down time, (which is few and far between) they are busy reading letters and writing their own. My son was not a writer at all and I was lucky enough to get a letter a week from him while he was in BC.
mommaross, I can only imagine the stories they will tell after they graduate, lol. My son graduated over a year and a half ago and some stories still slip out about boot camp now and then, lol.
Oh my goodness my husband and I cracked up about the "I'm a pretty princess!" That's hysterical! Thank you so much to those who have received letters for sharing with us. It makes it easier for those of us who haven't gotten letters yet to know what is going on! No letter here in Louisiana today either :/ There's always tomorrow right!
He also said others have to stand and look in the mirror and point at themselves and say "I'm not stupid - you're stupid" lol... Guess their ROC's have a sense of humour :)
Still no mail here other than the form letter. I see were there are prayers going up for those that are sick at BC. Do we have confirmation that there are sick ones? I still have not heard from our son so I pray EVERYONE is well and back on the road to recovery!
Isnt it too early for letters, though? I thought we would not hear from them until after 3 weeks. Its only been 2 and 1 day. Course, I would LOVE to see a letter. I keep asking everyday I come home from work... is there a letter and the answer has been NO everytime. Bummer! Anyhoo... I hope everyone is doing well and I pray not only for these young men and women at BC but also for those of us left behind. This has been really tough but I know we can do this!!
Ok, mommaross...howling here at the curtseying SRs saying that they are pretty princesses! :-)
All I can really say is WOW, you guys are sure a talkative bunch. It took me a while to catch up just from this morning. I saw a couple people were asking what the PIR ribbons are for. If you send me a friend request on this site or an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com I will send you some info. There is also a link on my page. It is great that you guys are getting letters already. It breaks my heart that your little girl cried when she heard a plane go by Kellee, bless her heart. I hope she is doing better now.
Heidemarie: Lala Ribbon Queen, who posts on here often and who is in the MEMBERS picture square top right, makes them for PIR. Just click on the red w/ribbons icon in the Members square up top or wait for her to post on here. She does often. She will be happy to tell you about her ribbons. They are wonderful!
