WELCOME TO PIR 10/12/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

VBS ladies (vibrating bra syndrome). If you need to run out of the room just say "I have VBS", people will either not want to know what it is, or ask you. If they don't ask what it is...LOL, if they do ask, you can all get a kick out of it.

Mine is still attached to me, you never know when they will call. Yes, in A School there is more freedom, but I haven't seen my son in six months, I am not going to miss the opportunity to talk to him.

Last week my son had a medical issue (not terrible, but certainly very painful) and I was not about to miss those calls from him letting me know how he was, and if the medical issue had "passed" so to speak.

...mommaross and Lala!

When my hubby was in Iraq, Sailor was in BC. I clipped the cell phone onto my bra strap over my heart!

I also once spent an entire dentist appointment for BOTH our sons at home on the Phone with him (hubby).

Hey, the guy had walked through a sandstorm in full flak gear to make the call!

"Here that honey...he needs his wisdom teeth out."

Thanks to the ladies who private messaged me 822's date!

mommaross:  You will have a little more freedom with that when they are in A School and can stay in touch more often! :-)  But once deployed?  You will be glued to cells/landline phones again!  And since some call in the wee hours of the morning because of time differences in the world, little sleep will be gotten!

Lala, received my ribbons! They are awesome! I will be so proud to wear one and represent my US Navy Sailor Daughter!! I feel for all of you still waiting for your "I'm a sailor calls."  I did not realize how fortunate I am that she is in a low division number! I am praying for all of you to have that call and feel the relief and pride that is so overwhelming!! See everyone Thursday or Friday!!!!
