OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ok, both son/me exhausted from shuttering/preparing yesterday....his work was with his company, mine here.  Nice and dark in our rooms with the shutters on.  Good sleep....until his alarm went off for work at 6 and he had to get up (but didn't hear him, thank goodness).  Didn't help that he had left the seat up on the potty and I almost fell in during the night...sigh...thank goodness for a sore knee that has me supporting with my arms are I would have been in the brink!  Remember that, Sub Dad, in your own household!  :-)  SEATS DOWN!

Sooooo....Sunday is the only morning I can possibly sleep until 7.  Up at 5:30 every other day......ZZZZZZ......then....phone rings.....Mom calling. At 6:40!  UGH!  Just wanted to chat about the storm....oooops....she thought it was 7:40!  Don't ya just love "old age?"  So up and at em....squally weather here now, under tornado watch until 5 pm, worst to come later....but so far, not bad.  Already some tornadoes have caused some damage down in a couple of areas though....so please pray that the tornadoes stay away!  4500 w/out power already. We are on the :dirty" side of the storm which means better chance of tornadoes/flooding rain.  The rain-- we can deal with in our area which has so much coral rock that it doesn't flood much....but the wind?  UGH! Not good.  Running dogs out to potty between squalls.  Gathering up branches but so far, not many yet.  Another day in "paradise!"  :-)

This has been your play-by-play account of Isaac....HAA!  Sorry....I know...ENOUGH ALREADY, Dianne!  Just kinda boring here alone in my house (son is working again....still shuttering up his workplace, Homestead Miami Speedway).  They are trying to keep people off the streets down here...but not sure how successful that is.  Some just like to "party" during storm time!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Hi all, sorry I have not been around as my daughter just came in from Portland.  R-E's mom, daughter is also flying in from Portland on SWA - she got a good rate from SWA into Midway,  WAY TO GO diannep - you proved that hard work will always pay off in the end.  What rate is everyone getting for the Residence in, when I go on the Website, it seems to be a little high?  I will be looking into attending Sarges meet and greet; however it we stay at the hotel booked (Ramada) they also have a meet and greet.  Thanks everyone for the suggestions - keep them coming.

A quick tip on navigating this site. Make sure you bookmark Navyformoms on your web browser. At the top of the page you will see tabs labeled main, invite, my page, etc. If you click on the "my page" tab it will give you a list of discussion etc that you are a part of.

If you click on the groups tab it will bring up a listing of all the groups on this site. Just under the tabs, and to the left, there is another clickable link called "my groups". If you click that link it will bring up all of the groups that you have joined. They are clickable links and will bring you right to the group you are wanting to look at.

Ahhhh, mommaross.  So sweet!  I survived, even though my mom, neighbor, and son all yelled at me.  I AM WOMAN....HEAR ME ROAR!  :-)  Good luck to you, me and any others in this storm's path!

Thanks, Rachel!

Brandon'sMom:  He will get the first letters.  Many times, the recruiter's address is incorrect but the letters should arrive....just may take a bit longer.

HonoraryMom:  I think you will really like Residence.  It's in a nice office park area...very quiet when we were there.  So glad you will have lots of N4Moms company there!  Be sure to sign up for the PIR shuttle when you check in, if you don't want to drive.  $3/pp each way and your sailor rides back with you for free (unless moving over to GL A School, in which case that move happens about an hour after PIR is over).

DId it!  Survived the climb on the roof, balancing to put in panels, hammer in S clips on 7 upstairs windows....survived by male neighbor putting his hands on his hips and telling me to get off the roof (he had to hold the ladder for me later....but only after I finished!)....and survived my son yelling at me on my cell phone (had that in my pocket) to get off the roof!  I told him no way, snotty nosed kid (28 yrs old!)....I'm doing it because you aren't here to do it.  Poor guy....said he put in over 600 shutters at work and is now at the president of his company's house to put his up.  Good thing I took care of the ole homestead myself....not bad for an ole lady!  :-)  Thanks for the prayers, everyone.  Bad weather is to start tomorrow, maybe in the early morning, and continue for a good while.  Pray that I can get my two large dogs to go outside to do their business   :-(  !
