For those of you who have received "the box," what was the return address? Did it show your recruit's address? Please help, I am about to lose my mind as my son's box has been delivered SOMEWHERE but RTC won't tell me where. We got his form letter today, and my son had the wrong house number on it. However, I was told by someone at RTC that the address the box was sent to wasn't even in the same STATE that we are! There is NO WAY he would have sent it anywhere but to us. I am feeling so helpless right now...
Anyone from Texas??
WAHOO, got our letter 10/12 PIR date....... also sent us a note at the end of the letter!! LOVED it and his penmanship is amazing now!!! LOL
Here is a site for you all http://callsforrecruits.org/
SubDad: Glad you are here! Are you on NavyDads too? If so, you may want to post some of our info back over there....we seem to be more chatty with more info than they have on their site. Hmmmm.....I wonder why??? :-)
Welcome to the group!
Jonnie'sMom: They should be starting their first training week in this group now. They have processing days before that and they can last a long time for some of the SRs, depending on when they arrived. My son was one of the first arrivals and had them for about 10 days when he was in bootcamp. Processing days are when they have their medical/dental appointments, paperwork done, gear issued, etc.
The lowest numbered divisions in this group (327/328...) probably start training week #1 either yesterday or today. The others will be following right behind them.
Training days are for 6 weeks, then they are sailors! There are more days after they become sailors (which they are after BattleStations) that are "down" time for them between BattleStations and PIR. Divisions 327/328 will go through BattleStations first and therefore will have about a week of down time when done. They still have schedules to keep, PIR practice, etc, but have finished training so they are more relaxed.
Training days are M-F so are counted 1-5. They start their "day 1" on the same week day each week. Weekends/holidays don't count...those are "hold" days. So...after Labor Day, everyone's "day 1" will move back a day. Not a problem...they allow for this and will PIR on time!
Hmmm, SoupMom: Not sure on that but possible. Don't worry about the security calls. Hoping that they do so you can talk to your SR!
My son is Ship 11 Div 335 Anyone??
