Honorary Mom my dad booked everything threw a travel agent I found it to be much cheeper and they do all the work lol.
I have a question:
Does anyone know if all A school attendees (at GL) get day liberty the Saturday and Sunday after PIR? I am wondering what the typical hours of liberty are? I know we'll get info later, but I thought perhaps there's a veteran Mom or Dad ie: SubDad ;) out there who has an idea. Thanks!
Good morning ladies. Hope all have a great day!
Ruth, I'm sure FTLW will be on soon to address your question. I believe that they will ask for references from neighbors, maybe teachers, etc....people who really know your SR. FTLW will give more details later. Your SR will ask you specifically for what is needed and you will have time to get it up there to them.
I thought I was crazy in being blown away by the handwriting on this form letter! I don't recall that kid ever having even halfway decent writing, ha! You just know they've got someone watching their every more, bless their hearts.
I am SO confused. I never travel farther than my car will take me and I usually just pick up a hotel coupon book from a truck stop to determine where to lay my head for the night. But this trip is going to be different. My daughter and I will be traveling form Texas for PIR. Anyone who has travel experience please help me. Should I use Travelocity, or Orbitz, or one of those web site? Or is it better (more cost effective) to book flight, rental car, hotel all separately. I am looking at the brochure that came with the form letter. I just don't know what to do. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks!
oops Div 331 not Div 332
:) HI ALL, My son is in ship 11 Div 332 - Got the letter today - YEA - and the neat handwriting was the first thing I notice. I hope it stays that way. Writing my first letter tonight.
juanlaong: The form letter address is the correct one. Many times, the recruiters have the wrong one, but the letters usually arrive....just may take longer.
krucker: This very well could be your group! So stay on here until it is confirmed with the form letter. This group starts with Div 327. We will know the rest of the divisions in it next week. Welcome!
hopeesmom: I can assure you that you are not alone on the bootcamp emotional rollercoaster ride! You have lots of company! It will get better though...just hang in there!
Ok, ladies. I want you all to ask your SRs why their handwriting is so neat....I know it is "Navy Print" but they do it so well....ask them if they are told that the letters will not be mailed out if not in Navy Print. I was also shocked at my son's writing when I received my son's first letter. But I forgot to ask him why, and it has been so long now since he was in bootcamp, he probably doesn't remember! So ask and let us know!
Congrats on the form letters received! The others will be arriving soon!
Hello all!
Finally got the letter (it really wasn't that long - it just felt like forever!)

What Happens at Boot Camp - Day-per-Day account (Up to week #6) from a SAILOR
This is from the NavyDEP site. Craig who is an advisor on this site is retired Navy and very active in helping DEPpers and their families prepare for Boot Camp. This was written by one of the recruits to “pay it forward” to those behind her to help them out as Craig and all the others on NavyDEP website.
