WELCOME TO PIR 10/12/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I leave Sunday to visit my daughter in Phoenix before heading to Chicago.  That means I get to pack for the hot weather in Florida and the cold weather in Chicago.  I just stand in front of my closet and shake my head.

@Lala I just received my ribbons Thanks a lot my husband and I Loved them. Just another detail for my son to see how proud we are of him. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Planning my outfit thought of a nice dress but the weather is changing.  Very hard to pack since we're in the 90's down here I will not be prepared for this cold weather.

I only spoke to my son for a short time he said he wanted to be considerate so others could call home too. Then he called back to speak to his brother and sister that were back home from school to give them the news too...of course he said since there was a phone available. Very nice of him to do this he knows everyone was excited to call home.

@mommaross I also sent my last letter today! Very special by the way hope he gets it. I made a copy of it in case he doesn't get it on time.  I received my call around that time yesterday right before I had to leave to work.

Congratulations to All Sailors!

Blue Candle still lit and prayers for the rest of the divisions.

Hi Ladies:  I'm assuming Division 338 is the last to go and that I may not hear anything till Wednesday of next week?  I have to tell you that.. I am so happy for everyone who is getting their "Sailor" calls. Every time I read someones post... I get teary eyed....  I am just so proud of all of our SR's....

Comment by diannep on October 5, 2012 at 2:55pm

Hmmmm.....it's about 90 degrees down here ....but it cooled down to 81 last night!  :-)  Yep, gotta love the long long summers in S. FL...we are more than ready for a cool down and a drop in the humidity, but not likely for a few more weeks, if not longer...

When we went to PIR....it was in the 20's.  So actually 45 sounds pretty good!

Comment by mommaross CVN77 on October 5, 2012 at 2:37pm

Sent my last letter today - hope it gets there before they leave for A School.

Holding my breath for all your phone calls today - excited for you - won't be long now, keep your phones close by and on the loudest ring :)

My call came yesterday at 2.57 pm Florida Time!!

SEA's mom thanks for the updates on the weather.  Sometimes when we pack during this time of year you would think we were going for a month and not just a few days, 2 of them being in the car. LOL
