OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Anyone that has a son that is at Groton, CT for sub/A school I joined that group.  I will still stay on here to see how everyone is doing.  I know the Groton group will be just as informative as this one was.

Domsmom ship 03 div 330 my son left for P'cola Sunday - they were left at the airport 2.00am lol.  We did the electronics run and got a pic of everyone waiting to check in - if your son was there let me know I'll send you the pic.  No word from my sailor today either

Does anyone here have a Sailor who has gone to Groton, CT for sub school?

Comment by diannep on October 14, 2012 at 8:14pm

He had some very nice RDCs to have given the candy back!  YAH!  In my son's division, they kept it and ate it themselves.  HA!  Some SRs have to do pushups while the RDCs eat it....all in good fun!

Comment by LoriM (div 337--Kevin's submom) on October 14, 2012 at 5:26pm

diannep, no they can not buy them at the NEX.  As far as someone sending some in the mail I don't know if they take them or not.  My son did tell me about the Sailor in his div (337) that got the candy from his grandma, the RDC's of course yelled a lot but they just locked it up until PIR.  Then the RDC's gave him the candy back and he got to share with everyone.  My son also said he wasn't the only one that got a care package.LOL

Comment by diannep on October 14, 2012 at 4:44pm

Wow, LoriM.  Thanks for that info.  Hadn't heard that before.  So.....they can't even buy them at the NEX (as opposed to ladies trying to send a couple in letters?)

diannep to let you know about the q-tips.  The SR's are not allowed to have them due to someone awhile back got one stuck in their ear.  My son couldn't wait to use one in our hotel room.

LaLa saw a lot of people (whole families) with the ribbons.  Some people were asking how we got them because they wanted one.
