Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

proudnavymom,

There are no tickets given out.  The names are just on an access list.  I'm sorry, but RTC no longer allows any "extras" to be put on another SR's access list.  This practice was prohibited as of January of 2013.  If anyone from either of the Sailor's lists are caught, then both sets of guests will not be allowed into PIR and both Sailors could lose their liberty time with their families.  Please have any extra family members remain at the hotel to watch the PIR on the LIvestream, then they can see your Sailor when he/she arrives at the hotel after PIR.  I would hate for PIR to be ruined for you all because of a violation of this access list policy.

Are there any Nuke moms on here?  My son has mentioned several that he has made friends with and I would love to connect with their families.

Received a letter today! It's been quite sometime, and he's in good spirits. Two weeks left!!! Hard to contain the excitement. Bracing for the best, and best of luck to our recruits.

Raqi'smom:  I just sent you a question about BattleStations in a friend request... please read the question before you hit ACCEPT.... otherwise it goes away!

Got a letter from our son along with a picture of him and his best friends when they were in recruit heaven. Tears over floaded my eyes seeing his picture...miss him so much!!!

He told us when he'll have the final PFA and the Battle Station. I know for sure I can not share the date of BST here so I'll stop here. His div is 399

Friends,

This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon.  Perhaps you can share with your SR in a letter now.

             "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name;

              you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

              and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.

              When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames

              will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One

              of Israel, your Savior..."

                                                                                     Isaiah 43:1b-3a
