~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Greetings Friends,
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come."
Revelation 4:8b
ellen0502-what a blessing you can follow his goings on on facebook, whereas you cannot speak with him often. Thank God we are part of the internet generation. Can't imagine being a Navy mom without the digital capabilities we have! Bless those who've gone before us!
Hi Diannep! Good to have you here. Yup it's me again! Son PIRd in July, now I'm back for my daughter! Cheers!
Rolltidemom: Your SR is the only one who can give you the password for the PIR gate pass (which you can download around 11 days before PIR). So put that question in a letter to your SR....
Swansont: Have you contacted your son's recruiter? He/She may have the division number. However, keep in mind that sometimes the info they get off of the computer re: your sailor can change...the form letter should be the correct info.
ellen: The "wheres waldo" pik of your son is just too funny! He is taking OPSEC to a new level! :-)
Hi, ladies! Another N4Moms veteran here joining to help. Welcome to the Bootcamp experience! Emotionally up and down....for your SRs and for you all....but in the end....you will have a United States Navy Sailor! HOOYAH!
Please keep posting whatever questions you want on here....we never mind answering them as many times as we need to in order to make sure that all of you have the info you need. Also, be sure to look through the "pages" section on this page....up above and to the right, under the MEMBERS PHOTO BOX. Lots of info there!
That picture is from the ship my son is on and it was posted on the ships FB page. His PIR was last year, and he is now somewhere out there floating in one of the oceans. I haven't seen him or talked to him since the beginning of July, so I stalk their FB page hoping for a glimpse. LOL
I posted that for diannep because my son avoids cameras if possible. All through BC and A School I only caught a glimpse of him once and that was at his A School graduation.
Yep, that's his chin!
When he came home on leave we went through all the pictures from BC and A School. He was in a lot of them. Left leg and arm, right elbow, top of his head etc. He is still holding true to the no picture policy. :)
Here is the link to the RTCs facebook page. Keep checking there for random photos from BC (they do not take requests for pictures). You never know when you may see your SRs leg, arm, top of his/her head. LOL
They also have started Trivia Tuesday again. The first person who answers their trivia question gets to pick what pictures they want taken. :)
Where did you find that picture? Is your SR in bootcamp? Thanks :-)
