Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Amanda:  We are waiting for the RTC official word of the division numbers in this group, and then ellen will post the division/brother division discussion forum up top.  In the meantime, you may want to friend request others in your division who are posting here and private message to get to know one another!  If RTC takes too long to post the divisions, ellen will open the forum with the division numbers she is receiving from your posts here.

Here is Southwest's website.  Check out the "Wanna get Away" section....as well as any specials they may have going on from your city to the Chicago/Milwaukee area.

Southwest is a great one to fly.  Check out flights into both Chicago-Midway and also Milwaukee.  Milwaukee is a little quicker drive to GL because of less traffic.  Southwest also has NO CHANGE FEE (in the event your SR is delayed....as mine was!  Sadly, I hadn't booked with Southwest so had to incur the change fees).  Two bags always check for free too.

Comment by JKRMommy on September 18, 2013 at 3:44pm

I was just checking Southwest, they had the cheaper fare with 2 free checked bags. We are from NE Washington. Last week cheapest flights were $182 one way, today $132. Thought I would pass it along since today may be a good day for others to buy. It would cost us $790 RT for 3 seats so I'm still not sure if I can go but good deal!

Finally got my form letter today, but there was not a note from him. :(  When my oldest was there three years ago, his form letter had a few lines to write a note. Did anyone get a note from their sailor?
