OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The I'm a Sailor calls can be up to an hour long!  Depends on how many divisions went through and how much time they end up with.  Not scripted....chatty but with very tired (but proud!) SAILORS on the other end!

outi:  That is the time we tell you all to stop mailing.  About a week before PIR.  If anyone wants to keep writing, make copies of the letters and take them to PIR with you in case they didn't arrive.  They ARE forwarded to A School...but we all know how the mail can be!  :-)

When they call with the "i'm a sailor" call is it scripted like the "I'm here" call or can they chat for a couple minutes?

iHeartmySailor- my son in div 424 said it takes 3-5 days to get to him.  I too, am in Cali. Northern Cali-don't know if that makes a difference

Just curious when should our last day to mail be so that it arrives while they are still in bootcamp if their last day is Nov 8th. Will mail get forwarded to A school incase they don't receive it or anyone know how long it usually takes? I'm from Cali... Thank you

nancy:  If your SR didn't order them, you can do it in the NEX after PIR.

No confusion, sunshinefam.  Just didn't want people to think that BattleStations (their final test) was already over for anyone.  They have not started them for this PIR group yet, but will later this week.

outi:  Will email you the date for your divisions.

Good Morning All,
My son is in div 429/430.  He just mentioned that he learned how to shoot at the range. He did very well on the phase 2 of his PT exams.  We did not concentrate on the particles of the test or the names. He had limited time and my fam wanted to talk with him. They were trying to take up mommy & son bonding moment.  Lol However,  not trying to confuse anyone. I am just happy that he is getting through the pt exams and trying to remain in good spirits

Good morning!  anyone know if we have to order pictures and pir video beforehand? or do we do that when we get there after PIR?
