OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got my call from my Sailor a little after 4! Div 952. Beyond happyand proud. I told him I couldn't wait to see him and my voice cracked a little when I said and give you a hug. He cracked a little too, and said, "mom, you just don't know". Could barely keep from blubbering, but I did!

Congrats all other proud parents!!

Can't wait for Thursday night to meet some of you, and for Friday morning!

I just got my "I'm a Sailer" call and am sooo excited!!  Division 428, everyone passed - in case any mom from that Division misses their call or doesn't get one - CONGRATS to everyone!!  It's been an uphill climb the entire time for this division!!

DeesMom:  She would be in the FIT DIVISION now .... there is a group on here for that.  Please join it.  I'm surprised they said she can't test again until Monday since they should be testing again tomorrow, I think, or else Thurs.  Ask about that on the FIT group.  If she misses her PIR, she will not have another one.  She will keep testing until she passes (or runs out of tries) and then do BattleStations, heading straight to A School after that.  Let's hope that she gets to test before she thought and can possibly make her graduation!
