N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi dianne, can we say our Sr's last name through private message?
Comment by diannep on September 28, 2013 at 11:09pm

Sade:  I would have no way of knowing when the calls come in.  I know when my son had watch when up there, he missed his division calls, and they let him call after watch.  But don't know if all are able to do this.

Ladies, just a reminder to please not use a SR's last name here on this site.  If you posted one, please hit the "x" in the post box and delete.  We are not allowed to use the last names here.  Thanks!

NewtoNavy, My granddaughter is Ship 14 Div 006. She is the  MA. I bet they are getting to  know each other pretty good.

Thanks Diannep, do you think he will be able to call tomorrow? I am so sad. It's our first time being apart in 9yrs

Finally got the call! I was so excited to answer the phone when I saw the caller ID say ILLINOIS, at 230am my time,1030am on the 28th Illinois time, He said he was doing good and that he just wanted to let me know that everything is starting to smooth out for him. He sounded healthy and with energy. I have not received the box nor the form yet, but he mentioned he sent it and a few letters too. Can't wait to receive them. He did mention his PIR date which is the 15th of Novemeber and that he is in Ship 13 Div 007. Hope to meet some parents with SR's in the same ship and division.

Brother divisions in this group that we know of so far:

001/002

003/004

005/006

007/008

009/010

...so far from your posts.

901 is in here too, no brother division.

And .... possibly an 800 division here?  No posts yet here to confirm that ...but maybe!

Brother divisions mean that the 2 divisions train together, so get to know the ladies that are in your brother division too since your SRs know each other!

Comment by diannep on September 28, 2013 at 5:11pm

Sade:  That is possible....but there really is no rhyme or reason for the phone calls.  It would be that your husband had "watch" during the division calls, or had another kind of appt on base.  Hope he can call soon!

So happy that I got my SR's phone call this morning, sad that my husband was not home to hear him too.  Sounded a bit rough and was trying to keep the conversation positive.  Sounded like a few of them were getting sick but that they were feeling better.

Comment by Sade on September 28, 2013 at 2:41pm
I am so sad, it seems as though everyone is getting a phone call from my husband division except him. Could something be wrong? I did speak to him for 2 minutes last Sunday since I missed the "I'm here call" so he called on Sunday to tell me about the box and letter.
Is that why I didn't get a call today? Everyone I spoke to said they got 10 plus minutes with their SR ;(
