WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

thanks guys I would love to stay and sight see however I have a house full of teenagers that I am leaving alone. I do not want to leave them any longer than I have to if you know what I mean? Yet I don't want to miss a moment with my SR. Just in case if you have any ideas for things to do I am all ears.

Lori-Lee, I agree with Mike's Mom, I would take advantage of seeing Chicago and stay a little longer.  It's a wonderful city with a great Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium, beautiful skyline and awesome restaurants.  (Boy, did I sound like a tourism commercial or what and I'm not even from Chicago, lol?) But, I agree, if you are traveling all that way, you should stay a day or two later to explore.

@ Lorie-Lee: Even if your "by then Sailor" gets shipped out first thing on Saturday - there are tons of things to see and do in and around Chicago. I lived in Chicago most of my life, and I know there are other moms in this group that live in the "burbs"  Maybe we should get our heads together and make a list of suggested "cheap" activities...

ZacMansMom:  They have the option to donate the clothes/shoes they arrive at bootcamp in--- in which case, no box would come home unless they took other personal items with them (like a phone).

Congrats Betsy!  That is wonderful that you got the call from Malaysia!

Good Morning diannep and ladies!

Lala, I'm glad to hear that you heard from your daughter.

My sailor called me yesterday from Malaysia.  It was the best 3 minutes ever!
