Jenn:  It DOES get better....I know you miss your SR....it is so hard...but remember...they are learning, being mentored, growing up...and the sailor you will embrace with be an extra-special mature version of the one you sent off to bootcamp!  It truly is remarkable.  I'm thinking I needed some RDCs living at my house when my boys were growing up....  :-)  Around training week 4, things change...the breakdown process is over and the buildup process is in force.  They have the "prize" in their sights and they start getting excited about that...they realize by then that they have accomplished alot already (there is a time when they wonder if they can ever do anything right in the beginning).  Sooo.....just picture PIR...watching your sailor, in those beautiful BLUES, walking in with their division.  It is truly a sight to see!

You know...I just noticed that you do not have divisional discussions up above. sjtina started the SPECOPS one (maybe you could add the  ship/div to it sjtina? thanks).

I know it is a small PIR group but you can start them if you like or I can make one for each group. Just one for each div. All you have to do is put "Ship ## DIV ###" in  the title. Sometimes the moms like to connect up with there individual divisions as well as a group as a whole.

Sounds like our Sons and Daughters signed up at the right time!  I'm saying this from a Moms perpective but I'm a heck of alot more comfortable knowing a war is over as my Son is entering the Military...sorry but I am!

It is time to CELEBRATE!!!!!!   The Iraq War is OVER.

I wonder if they have told all the recruits and Sailors what they are saying on the news. Iraq war is over and all troops will be home by the end of the year. I swear when I read that I had tears running down my face. I can only imagine how happy the families will be to have their son/daughters, wives/husbands, brothers/sisters, moms/days, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles etc etc etc home for the holidays. What a great joy that will be :-)

Just ordered my ribbons! Thanks Lala!!

Good morning everyone.  Here's also hoping that everyone that has not received a letter gets their letter today, my sons fiance got her letter yesterday finally (16 pages), so she was happier, she was so bummed that we all got letters and she didn't on Wednesday.

@Jenn, sending a hug your way, I was feeling that way about 3 days ago, just miss his voice.  I'm glad his letters sounded upbeat, makes it a little easier, don't know how I would be feeling if he was so down (might see me on the news, "crazy mom trying to break into RTC to get her son",LOL)

Ladies, everyone take a deep breath!  Breathe in slowly, slowly, slowly and now exhale.  See there, do you feel a little bit better now?  The not-knowing is so hard.  I'm sure for some of you, it may be the first time that your loved ones have been away this long, but remember, they are doing just fine.  Keep writing those letters, it's great therapy.  But remember to keep them positive and encouraging.  It's normal for some of your days to be up and then some to be down again.  We are here for you with support, ((hugs)) and smiles.  :)

Hi everyone - Good Friday morning to you all!  I'm hoping that those of you who haven't gotten letters yet get something today - I'm crossing my fingers really, really hard for you!

I have to admit I'm feeling a little blue today - it actually started last night.  I just wish that I could go back in time and do everything again - even the bad stuff - and remember it better - or enjoy it more - or not spend so much time worrying about the stuff that just didn't matter.  I just miss my kiddo.  Sorry - I know this to shall pass and I'll be feeling better soon.

(((HUGS))) silkoutwest!  I'm so sorry you haven't gotten anything yet.  It's ok to wallow.  I just know that you will be seeing something really soon!!  Be strong - we're here for you.

Hi Watson - I hope you see some mail really soon too!  Your son is in the performance division - does he play an instrument or sing?  It will be so interesting to hear what he is doing once you get his letter since I don't think anybody else is here with someone in 902.
