And YES I've been writing to him almost every other nite...adding pics on the bottom of the letters...they were still on P-Day until after the 9th of Oct...he said they didn't move forward till after that weekend...they got to set up their bank accounts and their first checks are going to be deducted about $900 for uniform expenses...OK whos son messed up "the head" inspection??? LOL I'll admit it was my son the messed up the deck log...but he was tired and it WAS 2am after all! ;oD  So far our division has 4 demerits...we can only do better...

@Jenn, no I read that they are seperate in the sleeping but everything else (training and all that) are done together.

LOL Diana, yeah if she isn't much into drama I bet she will be a little irritated, plus she already has been to college right?

I can't wait to hear some of the stories at Thanksgiving.  They said that sometimes the hardest thing to do is come together as a team, so hopefully the division does that quickly or it will be tough for them.

Ok - that's what I thought.  Oh girls *shakes head*  My guess is there is probably a lot of guy talk that is going on about the girls that he didn't share with you.  :)
Comment by AlohagirlinCA (Mom of MT) on October 19, 2011 at 6:40pm
Not a veteran at all but he said they don't share a room the females are across the hall
Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on October 19, 2011 at 6:39pm
LOL The girls fighting over the guys???? Too funny actually. Oh the hormones floating in THAT place! Sheesh........... I don't need to imagine much being a teacher the last 25 years.  I am SO curious on Aubrey's take on all this. She rarely gets into girl drama so if that is happening amongst her female peers, no doubt she'll be gnashing her teeth.... Think of the stories around the T-day dinner 'table'! Ha!

Hey veterans - does an integrated division mean that they share a room as well?  Just wondering.
Comment by ABH Mom (Tiffani) on October 19, 2011 at 6:32pm
AlohagirllinCA, I think it will get better, I heard the first letter can be pretty shocking, sad, discouraging, I hope your next letter is better.  Have you been writing him?
Comment by Jenn (Proud AO Mom) on October 19, 2011 at 6:32pm
Wait - what? Like camp?  Weird.  Did he say that the division was getting in lots of trouble?  Don't worry - everything will even out.  When I got the form letter with my son's note on the back it was dated 10/5 as his first P day, so that week that he wrote was pretty much their first week.  My guess is that things will even out.  I hope.
Comment by AlohagirlinCA (Mom of MT) on October 19, 2011 at 6:26pm
The letter was written over the periods of 10-9th thru the 16th short paragraphs that went on for 3 pages (the Navy provided them small stationary pages) one paragraph was how the females fight over the males at night Grrrrrrrrr which he finds strange but flattering...I think he needs to concentrate more on whatever it is they are getting punishments for and less about being flattered...just a thought!
Comment by Jenn (Proud AO Mom) on October 19, 2011 at 6:17pm
OH NO Alohagirl!  That makes me sad (I'm also happy because it means if you got a letter then I will be getting a letter - although now I'm nervous to read what it may say).  I am so sorry that he is so down.  I have heard from lots of people that the first letter is usually the hardest since it's written right after they get there and they are in the middle of adapting.  I really, really hope that his is feeling better now.  I think all the divisions are integrated - they just don't share the same rooms for sleeping and bathrooms (obviously).  Stay strong and write him a postivie and encouraging letter.
